Try the AET Book Club book.

'A Quiet Belief in Angels' by RJ Ellory.
It's a very good read and the language is fantastic :)

If you like fantasy and stuff and want a really epic read, I'd suggest the dark tower series. There's seven book in all and the first book, "The Gunslinger" is a pretty small read so you can read it and decide if you like it or not.

I just finished Lords of the North by Bernard Cornwell. It's the last in a series of 3 historically-accurate fictional books about the Saxons and their battle to rid England of the Danes in the 800's or so... Very good stuff. I'm moving on to his series about King Aurthur.
I smile, but who am I kidding...

Did he ever finish that series? I got hooked on it when it first came out and then he set it aside and really pissed me off.

yep, he finished the series and each book came out around 2004-2005 I think.

    # 5 - Wolves Of The Calla
    # 6 - Songs Of Susannah
    # 7 - The Dark Tower

I would also second the suggestion on reading the Dark Tower series. Also The Stand is a pretty epic story.

I agreed, The Dark Tower series is epic. I love it.

And the Stand too. Other Stephen King stuff = not so good, in my opinion.

I love Klosterman books..so much that I've been trying to find something along that genre for awhile to read... I bought 'Love is a Mixtap' by Rob Sheffield; don't make the same mistake I did. That book was about at boring as boring could get.

That is a great series. Another one, which has been mentioned before in other book threads, is George R R Martin's A Song of Fire and Ice series. Currently there are: 1) A Game of Thrones 2) A Clash of Kings 3) A Storm of Swords and 4) A Feast for Crows. There are three more eventually forthcoming. They are kind of a medieval fantasy type of series. Completely engrossing. Happy reading.

It's got it all . . . Dragons, mystics, magic, demons, wights, ice-cold walking dead type creatures, knights, princesses, murder, incest, Xian-type themes, swarming hordes a la Ghenghis Khan. It's a series that I keep going back to and re-reading.

What's the deal on the Klosterman books? I've read/heard people mentioning that they like his books, but I don't know much about him or his work. Someone please elaborate for me. :)

Tom Clancy. My favorite is "Without Remorse", its about a man who is taking out a drug and prostitute ring after they kill his girlfriend.
Very awesome, keeps you interested throughout the entire book. And Clancy is a very good narrator.
    Pirates had democracy too.

Very true. I've read rainbow six and Patriot games. When Clancy does action you just can't put it down.

Personally I loved the Anne Rice Vampire Series and the Witch books too. The Witch books start out as a slow read, but pick up and they pay off in the long run.
Pick up my debut novel here on amazon: Jonny Bails Floatin (in paperback) (also available on Kindle for $2.99)
