apparently his death is worth more than anyone else who passes.
no, its not worth more. The only person saying that is you.
If you feel that way and you would like to draw some attention to some person or cause you feel strongly about, feel free to post a topic regarding it.
No one is belittling the other passings, news matters or problems in the world. If you look on this forum, there are about a gazillion other topics about a plethora of other things that interest the masses.
No one says or thinks Heath Ledger's life is more important than anybody else, dude. It's a tragedy that it ended so early and his daughter will never know who her daddy is as a person.
he's clearly a douche...
John Gibson too.
Esther's here and she's sick?
hi Esther, now we are all going to be sick, thanks
in my opinion, a bunch of strangers talking on the internet is NOTHING like a dick that tries to pass himself off as a newsman to millions of people on radio and television. Its not the same.
If anyone deserves to get made fun of its some good looking rich hollywood sucessful actor who couldn't curb his drug habit even to keep his two year old daughter. Britney anyone? Is it tragic? Yes but this guy didn't die in a plane crash. He did it to hinself so let's not glorify it. Personally I would never make fun of him. I was really looking forward to the Brokeback Mountain sequel.

There's no proof he purposely did it to himself. He had drugs for both insomnia and the flu he was suffering from. DOCTOR PRESCRIBED DRUGS.. Did you know it's possible to die if you have aspiren with alcohol? People die of many things prematurely, allergic reactions, whatever.. It's a little early to pass judgement on him.

Yeah but his chick left him because of drugs and he did time in rehab last year for heroin so lets see what the toxicology report comes back with.
pathetic excuse for a man this guy is.... anyone who makes a joke about someone's passing is in the worst bad taste and in no way is funny. Heath Ledger wasn't a weirdo just becuase he hated the spotlight doesnt mean he was weird. He was just a normal guy with a great talent. People think he is fair game because he played a gay cowboy. what an absolute waste of space this guy is and that hate group also is in the same category.

laughing at someones death isnt right no matter what. but falwell said alot of things to anger people. ledger just tried to be a guy that made movies. ledger didnt make his money telling people what they are doing is wrong and are evil cause of it. not saying its right but dont expect people to be sad that you died after you bash them. if ledger spent his life saying chirstians and right-wingers were cockroaches of the human race the issue might be alittle different.

I did a quick search here, and did not see this mentioned yet. Forgive me if I'm duplicating this. It does not matter who has died, the fact that he has made fun of it is totally inappropriate. This guy is an ass.
John Gibson Mocks ‘Weirdo’ Heath Ledger’s Death: ‘He Found Out How To Quit You’
Opening his radio show with funeral music yesterday, Fox News host John Gibson callously mocked the death of actor Heath Ledger, calling him a “weirdo” with a “serious drug problem.”
Playing an audio clip of the iconic quote, “I wish I knew how to quit you” from Ledger’s gay romance movie Brokeback Mountain, Gibson disdainfully quipped, “Well, he found out how to quit you.” Laughing, Gibson then played another clip from Brokeback Mountain in which Ledger said, “We’re dead,” followed by his own, mocking “We’re dead” before playing the clip again.
Throughout the course of the show, Gibson continued to bring up Ledger’s death while discussing current events, jokingly claiming that current events may have caused him to commit suicide.
On yesterday’s drop in the stock market:
GIBSON: Maybe he had a serious position in the market.
TOM SULLIVAN: And possibly today, he looked at the window and said…
GIBSON: “Oh my God.”
SULLIVAN: His name’s not Keith Bledger, right?
GIBSON: He was depressed about yesterday’s downturn in the world stock markets.
On the Democratic debate in South Carolina:
GIBSON: Apparently Heath Ledger was suicidal and his friends saw it coming. I think he watched the Clinton-Obama debate last night. I think he was an Edwards guy, cause he saw his Edwards guy was just completely irrelevant.
In reality, New York City Police spokesman Paul J. Browne told the New York Times that there was “no obvious indication of suicide.”
You stay classy, John Gibson.
UPDATE: In 2006, when Brokeback Mountain was released, Gibson repeatedly made fun of the film, calling it “a gay agenda movie.”
UPDATE II: Newshounds is encouraging readers to complain to Fox News about Gibson’s comments.
I'm totally writing to FOX. To mock ANYONE like this is inappropriate and NOT news. I don't care if you are liberal or conservative, this was a PERSON with a family. To make fun of someone like this...I hope this dickhead looses his job. Remember how Don Imus lost his job because of what he called a "joke"? Share your thoughts:

This John Gibson guy looks like he's just a DNA sequence away from being a down syndrome buddy. Maybe he's confused in his little brain about making poopie and smelling his fingers afterward.
That guy is reason No. 956 why I don't watch FOX "news." I'd like to see Ledger's dad wait for him outside the studio and put an Australian ass-kicking on him. I've known a few Australian dudes. They're not scared to tussle.

January 31, 2008 -- HEATH Ledger had become a regular user of cocaine and heroin in the past year, getting so high on drugs that an exasperated Michelle Williams was forced to boot him out of their Brooklyn home, The Post has learned.
"She couldn't take it any more. Heath wouldn't show up for two to three days, and all of a sudden he would show up on her doorstep, an absolute wreck," a member of Ledger's entourage who did drugs with him told The Post's Lorena Mongelli. "He was partying, doing drugs. She didn't like the company he was keeping. She gave him an ultimatum. . . . and threatened to get custody of the girl. He wanted to make it work, but it was this scene he was wrapped up in. Was he an addict? Yeah."
The revelation comes as "Entertainment Tonight" and "The Insider" said that "out of respect for Heath Ledger's family," they would drop plans to air a video of Ledger snorting cocaine with a rolled-up bill at the Chateau Marmont. The video was taped without Ledger's knowledge following the SAG Awards two years ago. PageSix.com reports that Ledger quips on the tape, "I'm gonna get so much [bleep] from my girlfriend. We have a baby together, Matilda."
Heath's drug pal told The Post the 28-year-old star's mushrooming fame had him constantly exposed to drugs. As the pressures of work grew, he couldn't say no, and then wouldn't get help. "He was hanging out with a bad crowd. He wasn't cleaning up his act. He was making absolutely no effort . . . He was really into heroin. He wasn't sleeping or communicating with anyone."
Ledger's lifeless body was found in his Broome Street loft in SoHo last week along with six kinds of prescription pills. Authorities believe he overdosed, although the cause of death won't be official until toxicology tests are finished.
"At the end of the day this is really tragic," the source said. "He was a nice guy. I first met him in 2002. He was scared about the whole Hollywood thing . . . I don't think he realized how crazy it was going to be. So many people wanted a piece of him."
But, the pal adds, things got really bad when heroin entered the picture. "Once you go down that road, then it gets really scary. Because all of sudden you shoot up, you take heroin, then you do a line of cocaine and then you take sleeping pills. Look at River Phoenix, he died exactly the same way."

No herion or other illegal narcotics but definitely a little more than sleeping pills. He was still an addict.
NEW YORK -- The medical examiner has concluded that actor Heath Ledger's death was an accident, and the result of the abuse of prescription medications.
The medical examiner released results of the toxicology report Wednesday, saying Ledger died as the result of acute intoxication by the combined effects of six drugs, including pain killers, sleeping pills, and anti-anxiety drugs.
The six drugs found in his system were oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam, and doxylamine, the medical examiner's office said.
The drugs are the generic names for the OxyContin painkiller, the anti-anxiety drug Valium, Xanax, an anti-anxiety drug, and the sleep aids Restoril and Unisom. Hydrocodone is another name for the better-known Vicodin.
Ledger was found dead in his Manhattan apartment on Jan. 22.
An official familiar with the autopsy results said the combination of drugs likely led to respiratory failure.
The official said the death was ruled an accidental overdose not because he took a large number of pills at once but because of the cumulative effect that taking numerous drugs had on his system.
The official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said there was no evidence of alcohol or illegal drugs, like heroin or cocaine, in his system.
In a statement, Ledger's family said the results "put an end to speculation, but our son's beautiful spirit and enduring memory will forever remain in our hearts."
"Heath's accidental death serves as a caution to the hidden dangers of combining prescription medication, even at low dosage," the statement said.
The actor, 28, was found face down and naked on his bed at 3:26 p.m. by his housekeeper.
His housekeeper had entered Ledger's room to let him know that a masseuse had arrived for an appointment, police said.
Police sources said investigators found two bottles of sleeping and anti-anxiety pills at the apartment.
While not a marquee movie star, Ledger was a respected, award-winning actor who chose his roles carefully rather than cashing in on his heartthrob looks. He was nominated for an Oscar for his performance as a gay cowboy in "Brokeback Mountain," where he met Michelle Williams, who played his wife in the 2005 film. The two had a daughter, now 2-year-old Matilda, and lived together until they split up last year.
The death was a shocking and unforeseen conclusion for one of Hollywood's bright young stars. Though his leading man looks propelled him to early stardom in films like "10 Things I Hate About You" and "A Knight's Tale," his career took a notable turn toward dramatic and brooding roles with 2001's "Monster's Ball."
Poor guy must have had a really shitty time sleeping! I wish he would have been more careful...but lack of sleep can make anyone go crazy and willing to try EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING to just get two hours of sleep! He worked too hard I guess. Hopefully now they will let him Rest In Peace!! :(
