I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to post this, but as it's popular I'll post it here. I've just received an email showing the inhumane treatment animals receive in Chinese fur farms.

    That really belongs on MT. You'll get much more response.I don't wear fur nor does my wife . So since I'm not part of the problem , How is it I can be part of the solution?

    I got about a minute in to the video and couldn't watch anymore.

    This is absolutely heart breaking. You can see the confusion and pain in the poor animal's eyes...

    I've never worn fur and never will. The inhumane slaughter of animals for fashion in this day and age is inexcusable. I sincerly hope those stick-thin, ugly tramps they call 'celebrity', the people who mindlessly go out and buy without thought and the fashionistas who endorse this behaviour by wearing or promoting the final product, accidentally (I mean, it's not like they care enough to find it out for themselves) view something like this. They should be ashamed of themselves.

    This thread reminds me of the one Byrnzie put up yesterday about a dog being beaten to death outside his window in China. It's a shame (although I understand it's a difference in culture) that people in the Far east can't view animals like we do and treat them with more respect and compassion.

    I understand that we're not saints in this country but on a whole we are a nation of animal lovers and although the history of meat production in the UK is tainted (we're still not perfect but it's a whole lot better), and we do know cruelty when we see it. It upsets me that the many videos i've seen of the fur trade, the meat trade and basic animal treatment in the Far East are so barbaric. What's more, there seems to be a large deal of enjoyment coming from the humans concerned in the process.

    Sorry about the ranting but it's something i'm passionate about and the fur trade has once again, deeply upset me.
    Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

    ... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.

    It is not worth watching. And I don't mean that in a 'who cares' way. It describes it, that alone makes you sick to your stomach. You don't NEED to SEE a raccoon skinned, yet still alive.
