First Olympic dodgy judging

I think I've just witnessed my first sight of dodgy judging in this Olympics.
Men's horizontal bar final:
1. Zou Kai (Chn) 16.200 points Gold
2. Jonathan Horton (US) 16.175 Silver
3. Fabian Hambuechen (Ger) 15.875 Bronze
Jonathan Horton's performance was stunning. When his result went up the crowd booed, I think that says it all. Even the commentator said he disagreed with the judges. Don't suppose it had anything to do with the fact that the guy he was trying to beat was Chinese (dripping sarcasm intended).
A fix me thinks.

THe womans gymnastics has been complete bullshit in favor of the Chinese and against the US the entire time.
Those little 12 year olds are getting the benifit of the doubt and the IOC refuses to look into their age almsot as if the Chinese government has kidnapped their family and will torture them if they do. Not to mention on more then one occasion multiple announcers have said the american performances were clearly better yet the Chinese get better scores.
I don't know how to judge gymnastics so it is hard for me to say but it seems like quite a few people have had issues with the way it is being scored.Charlotte 00 | Charlotte 03 | Asheville 04 | Atlanta 12 | Greenville 16 | Columbia 16 |Seattle 18 | Nashville 22 | Ohana Festival 24 x2 | Atlanta 25 x20 -

Which is why, while I enjoy the gymnastics and diving, it is nice to have a precise winner as in the track and field events, volleyball, etc.So I'll just lie down and wait for the dream

Well, at least when there is dodgy judging, we get to see Bela Karoyli give his explosive opinion!0 -

Totally agreed. Anything that has to be judged has the possibility of unfairness....the smallest oceans still get big, big waves...0 -
They should only hold the olympics in America, dodgy judging never happens there.:pCan not be arsed with life no more.0

Any "sport" that needs judges to decide a winner and a loser is not a sport. Having judges leaves things open to corruption and other nonsense. Baseball, basketball, track and field are all sports because there is a winner/loser that is based on solely the performance that they put on where it's not judged by experts.
Diving and Gymnastics are not sports because the outcome can be determined off of the field of play. They are a competition but not a sport.I'll ride the wave where it takes me.0 -

He is from Romania, but now lives in the U.S. Imagine an older, angrier Borat!0 -
All the American dudes moves were in the same direction. It looked good but was relitvly "easy". China's Chin was always changing direction and grip which wilst not looking so spectacular was what the judges were giving points for.0

for those following these olympics closely enough, i dont think this was the coming out party china was hoping for... at the same time though i think people are being hypercritical because they know how much this means to the country and because the success of china is such a threat to everyone else... doesnt help that the governments not allowing peaceful protest as they had promised... and the whole underage girls gymnastics thing... and now this... first ive heard about it though so i cant really say one way or the other... too bad about that lui xiang (hurdles) too0

What about last night with Nastia Liukin tying the CHinese girl but Nastia got the silver? They had the same score!"...like a word misplaced, nothing said, what a waste.."

wait, i heard about this on my way to work this afternoon on sports radio. the host said that judges weren't allowed to score events that featured people from their home country. so that would mean at least china, us, and germany didn't have a judge on this particular panel."Have you ever.........pooped a balloon?"

I've always loved Track & Field (possibly has something to do with being a former sprinter). It is very cut and dry. That's what I liked about it. As an asthmatic, I wasn't much good for team sports, but with sprinting - oh - I could just get in there do my thing and move on to cheering for my teammates. LOVED it.
However, I also love the artistic display of gymnastics. I finally caved and watched some of it On-Demand over the weekend. I was going to avoid this run of the Olympics, as I am NOT a big fan of the folks in Power over in China. The female American athletes had a few fuck ups, but I felt even when their performance was stellar, they were under-scored.
I would definitely rather be in one of the cut and dry sports for this Summer Olympic Games. Where is it going to be next time?Walking can be a real trip
