I own neither an iPod nor a Rhapsody mp3 device. However, I'm thinking about doing so for the purpose of cutting down on my ever growing CD collection.

Which product is considered the best investment based on price, music selection, etc.?

The wife and I have 3 iPods between us...it's the only mp3 player that I have had dealings with....I enjoy mine....and she enjoys hers.

I'll probably go the iPod route, but I'm curious about Rhapsody because of the flat monthly fee that you pay as opposed to paying for an individual song.

i don't know if they are doing away with the subscription option, but rhapsody is taking on itunes and offering DRM free downloads....so it's like itunes without the drm so you can download files from rhapsody and put them on an ipod or any other mp3 player

having said all that, i love my ipods and itunes :)
