I actually stumbled onto a new one that I bought from Best Buy yesterday. We had talked about getting one, and I happened to be in the store when a shipment came in of 100. They were gone in less than an hour, but I grabbed one. I've decided that we're going to take it back to the store unless we can find someone who wants it. We haven't even had it out of the box yet. I paid $250 for it. We think we'd enjoy it, but we just aren't home sitting around with nothing to do very often and think we'd barely use it.

I'd check out ebay if you want a cheap used one.
They aren't hard to find anymore (at least now...). Pretty much every electronics store has 'em around here, and lots of them.

It's easy for me to say, but if you want one I think you'd have an easier time just going to the store.
  • they are everywhere....I don't see a shortage this year

What's the difference? It is a video game system that isn't very old, and is going to look and work like new. No one is going to be able to tell the difference.

Hey I wouldn't be complaining if someone GAVE me a used console.. however to actively seek out a used one when there are plenty new ones readily available at retail cost is a bit odd.

Not nowadays, used is as popular as new for this shit. Besides, maybe the OP has a Christmas budget to stick to.

I would love to buy a used Wii if somebody has one....why spend more if you can get away with buying a used one that works perfectly

Ok.. but I would go to GameStop or a similar resale store than ask on a band message board if someone has a used anything to sell.... same as if I was selling anything not band related.

Maybe, but this IS the AET ;) Maybe we're the last resort.
The thing about the reseller stores is that you go to Gamestop and see a Wii brand new for $279, then right next to it is the used Wii for $269....
Ebay and local trade sites, kijiji, etc, probably a good bet.

I know.. that's why I would spend $249 (as I did 6 months or so ago) and use Amazon.com to get a brand new Wii... $249, no tax, and free shipping.. can't beat it.

Yeah, hard to argue with that price. Good option for the OP.
