I've been eating this stuff for years.........the most important part is getting the right BBQ sauce..........And i believe you might be able to buy the pork that way........try an actual butcher.........

    Haha! You pull it! :p

I use two forks to pull it apart after it's cooked. It comes out stringy that way.

    Good luck! :)

  • Had the best pulled pork sandwich EVER at a brewery in Boston. Last time I was there I tried to go again but they had closed for food service for the night :(

I am sure I will get there again though!

  • As a Southern who makes his own BBQ the secert is in the time and temp you cook the meat. I usually smoke it for about 10-12 hours around 225. Then you just get two forks and pull it apart.

You can do this in your oven to.

For pork either get a butt portion or a leg. You can get them at your supermarket for about 1.00 a pound. In the summertime you can get them for as cheap as .70 a pound. I usually buy a couple legs and freeze them so I can make it year round.

The slower you cook the meat the more tender it will be.

Also if you had it at Clemson you might have been lucky enough to get some mustard base BBQ sauce. It is only made in South Carolina.
