for some reason this story really touched me. The gravity of life, and how we often lose perspective on how GOOD we actually have it (most of us at least). Next time you wanna bitch about something like a zippo, and poster, gas.... think just how good you really do have it, and what is really important

Yes I saw that story. Can you imagine lying in the same position for over 50 years? I didn't know there were still people in iron lungs.

That is CRAZY. While I am sure she did make the most of it, I am not really sure that is a high quality of life.

    We really are lucky.

A family was just murdered here in my city. Parents, two of their kids and their tenant. Seems the one year old was left crawling around the house. I think they suspect the tenant's former spouse :(

We are all very fortunate and should appreciate every day.

Maybe a high a quality of life for her was JUST to have a life.

wow, that really make you put things in perspective.

couldn't agree more. very sad story but she accomplished quite a lot for being in her position, no pun intended.

i remember hearing about this when it first came out, it blew me away bigtime. definitely a perspective check for sure. you can have everything in the world, but means nothing if you don't have your health.

life has its trials, but i'm so grateful for the life i have, no doubt. thanks for sharing the article.
