I've always had a liking for acrylics on canvas, recently I've started to combine watercolors and acrylics on watercolor paper 140lb. I'm having a lot more fun with this and clean up is easier:)

so you other artist out there what do you prefer to use?

So we're talking strictly visual art?

I think I'm going to start painting, no specific medium in mind though.

I am a water color expert.. (um, that sounded snobby) haha.. I love water colors.

I also love pencil drawings. I have done many many Urban Architecture studies in black pencil, and if done right, it can be so striking.
  • Wacom tablet and Photoshop. I'm so modern. :p

In a lot of my drawings for architecture school I used ink on mylar then rendered with marker on the backside and pastels on the front...I loved doing it that way....damn I hate CAD and photoshop for those drawings!

You went to Architecture school?! My husband is an architect. He worked for L Robert Kimball when we lived in West Chester. I have a BFA in Drawing and Painting from West Chester University.

Damn economy!:(

Thats awesome! I thought about either going to get my masters of interior design or masters of education.. my love for teaching won out. But art is still my passion and I do it as a hobby now! WCU has an awesome watercolor professor. Linwood White.. if you ever see any of his stuff in a local show, its such a treat. He's full of crazy stories and extremely talented. I miss WCU :(

oils on canvas. i love the textures you can get from using oils. you can really accentuate your brush strokes & get some cool streaks of colour through colour. plus, it's messy as hell :D

  • Acrylics and Pencil mainly. I've dabbled in oils but never really took to it.

    I'm useless with watercolor :o
