I love it!!
I don't mind it if i have all the supplies handy.
I bought plenty of that material ribbon that has the wire on the edges and I love it! It makes very pretty bows and can be shaped.&&&&&&&&&&&&&&0 -
chiquimonkey wrote:those are beautiful, i love the ribbon! being a visual person too, i feel ya...it's like how often do you get the chance to have some pretty designed paper and bows and such sitting around for a while and having lights twinkling over 'em? i love it!
EXACTLY!
and quite honestly, besides christmas...how often do i have THAT many gifts around all at once, period?birthdays, lucky if it's 1-3 gifts at most, and yes...nothing like the fancy christmas wrap.
justam - that ribbon is FANTASTIC! the ribbon i used for the bulk of my gifts was wired, makes beautiful bows indeed! had a nice gold beaded edge too, love it! also used for smaller gifts just a sheer organza, really sweet.Stay with me...

seriously, now that i only wrap a few gifts, adults only...i feel i can splurge on the beautiful ribbons. besides, much of it i've bought at mega sales after the holidays, so yea.....:p it really DOES make a huge difference to the ease of making gorgeous ribbons, and the overall look of your gifts. also, far easier to open b/c no ribbon to break thru, just untie, and we recycle/reuse.
years ago when i had a ton of gifts for nephews and such, i just used curling ribbon. sure, pretty/fun enough...but definitely not the same impact as 'real' fabric ribbon.CHANGEinWAVES wrote:OOOHHHHH purrrrrrdy

I can wrap a decent present after many years of learning. My family never did stocking stuffers though, think the last time i had a stocking from them was in the early 80's whan I was a boy. Although the women in my life have tended to get them for me.9/7/98, 8/3/00, 9/4/00, 4/15/03, 7/1/03, 9/28/04, 9/29/04, 5/24/06, 5/25/06, 6/17/08, 6/22/08, 6/28/08, 6/30/08, 5/17/10, 10/15/13, 10/16/13.0

Anyhoo, I LOVE wrapping presents. And putting all the ribbon-y bits on them. Choosing my wrapping paper is an exciting time for me.
I just wish I had some more to wrap...~AKA Dave-of-the-dead~

Been doing that for years. It's all very Cajun Man-like.
AmentsChick, thanks for the tips. I do know what you're talking about. However, I still can't hold the paper tight and get the tape on it at the same time. My fingers aren't very dexterous. The other thing is that I know how it's going to end up in less than 72 hours' time, so I don't care all that much.0 -

LOL! Such a true statement...and I'll bet Jeff is a GREAT present wrapper...think of the dexterity in those yummy fingers! This is the greatest band in the world -- Ben Harper0 -
I HATE the wrapping part, cos I'm so very bad at it
But I LOVE putting all the ribbons and bows and finishing touches on them
The part I love the most is writing out the gift tags. I try to put a personal message on each one of them. I like to think about the person I'm giving the gift to and what makes them special to meA human being that was given to fly.
