My company is going through a major change and a different direction. We are probably gonna merge with another company to reduce costs.Lot of things up in the air.Its causing stress to a bunch of us here. This other company might have us help them in the meantime with the turnover, and who knows after that...show us the door

I'm not tryin to let it get to me, but it does.Lots of big whigs floating around making work difficult, who knows what there intentions are

I'm young, single, and have an education....but it still kinda sux

I'm sure others are going through the same, hope things get better, doesn't look good

Most certainly things are looking dire. I am at a large Investment Bank and I am in an industry which has become a dirty word. 2 strikes and the bailout did not seem to do anything for the people on the front lines.

Family member of a small business. Credit crunch could hurt the ability of buying inventory and payroll. Sucks big time.

Yeah, if you are in the financial world, you better dust off that resume.
    It is horrible.
That is the main reason I chose to go into the medical field. I will always be needed.

    Yes, I am in school.
I am loving it so much.
    I am doing awesome too.
    :)
I am there for medical assisting, hoping to work in an ER or OB-GYN.
After that I would like to go for ultrasound tech-ing.

My company is terminating some full-time employee positions due to the economic landscape. I was part of a mass layoff with the dot.com bust in 2001. I definitely don't want to go through that again.

On the bright side, I tried a new career at that time, so I took advantage of being a "dislocated worker." I quit that career pretty quickly, but it was still the right time to try it.

It's looking like I will be out of a job in less than 2 weeks.
Nothing definite just yet, but with our sales down the way they are, and the lease running out at the end of the month, my boss is pretty sure it is going to close.
The bright side is, I'll get to be home all winter with my grandson..
  • i've had overtime all summer long and it looks like there's no end in sight to it.
