I just saw this movie in theaters with my family. I thought it was absolutely fantastic how it touched on so many adult themes but still stayed a children's movie at the core. Anyone else see it?

Review in the NY Times said virtually no dialogue in the first 40 minutes, but that it was visual poetry. Will try and see it this weekend.

I'm glad to see people are enjoying this. I've had really high hopes for it and can't wait to go see it next weekend.
  • I can't wait to see it - it looks like one of the most daring mainstream movies in a while. Also: it looks really cute. :p

really want to see it. i like how they "filmed" it. it looks really dirty and some grainy shots. nice not to see the bubblegum standard clear cartoon. you know?

I actually saw it yesterday early afternoon (before the Hartford show at night) and it was fantastic. After Ratatouille and this, I'm finally on the Pixar bandwagon.

I found that the minimal dialogue didn't bother me at all. Maybe I'm used to it because I've seen and enjoyed the silent Charlie Chaplin movies that Wall-E follows. I remember when There Will Be Blood came out last winter that a lot of reviews made a big deal of the fact that the first 15 minutes have no dialogue which I really didn't even notice when watching the movie.

Glad to hear it was good. My 4 year old really wants to see this movie.

Okay I just got home from seeing it!

It's so sweet. I loved it. Very good hearted movie. Touching..

I don't know how a child could sit through it though. Its so much to take in by just watching and understanding through visual cues. I can see it going right over many many kid's heads.

It's impossible not to fall in love with Wall-E himself. They make him so sweet.

I'm looking forard to seeing this flick, it's getting 98% on rottentomatos.com, and they're usually pretty strident when it comes to children's movies

I didn't like it. Boring, slow and not funny. Just my two cents though. :)

    Mine too.
He actually burst out crying at one point. For those who have seen it..you will know what I am talking about.
I enjoyed it, but this is not a children's movie. My kid is all about Star Wars, Indiana Jones and Pirates of the Caribbean...he is not easily scared...this movie freaked him out and made him sad.
    Adults will enjoy it though.

I loved the whole play on Walmart and the bigbox stores...pretty sad that Pixar is now becoming the voice of what we need to do as a people to make sure we don't destroy our planet.
It was a pretty dark movie, imo.

I don't think it is either. My 4 year old was bored to tears which took away from my enjoyment a bit. She has enjoyed every other Pixar flick. I honestly don't see how it would be possible for a child under 6 to enjoy it. Not a single review that I read mentioned this may not be a movie for children which I found odd.

i think the last few Pixar movies have been like that. Cars and Ratatouille both took their time to tell the story. Maybe bad for kids, but good for me!

Better than "The Incredibles". That would shock me.

that would depend on whether you consider the commentary on post-apocalyptic, mass consumption and excess in society to be relevant and impactful ...
