    i had to go to a shower/party after my friend was married in february. they sold toys if you catch my drift. it was embarrassing. i bought nothing.

    I do think wedding showers are stupid, and just a way to get more gifts. We made ours into a big outdoor party, with a lot of booze and a couple live bands. At least in exchange for the gift, the people got food, drinks and entertainment out of it. lol.

    Baby showers, I'm not totally against. Some women love anything that has to do with babies, and love buying baby gifts, etc.
