Excuses

I need a good excuse to get out of school tomorrow to be home in time for pearl jam concert tickets. And i can not fake sick, say i have a doctors appointment, or dentist appointment because then i'll need to bring in a note.


any ideas? :)

    Do your parents know there's a tour/show and you want to go?? tell them it's important to you to get these tickets and ask if you can take the day to be on-line to get them (or come home early/go in late, etc). If not, ask one of them if they'll log in for you to get them.
    believe it or not, we don't "need" anything. that is only the spoiled brat in us trying to fill some temporary solution to an emptyness that does not exist.

    really? but i dont get home until about 2-3 hours after the tickets go on sale.

    this could be my ignorance in what 16 year olds have available to them but are you going to use your parents credit card? If you are, it's not like you're going to be able to hide that from them, right? I don't see the harm in asking for the day off to get the tickets or asking them to do it for you. Of course, this is coming from me - my mom used to let me skip school if my grades were good, citing that "everyone needs a mental health day once in awhile".

    yeah they are letting me use their credit card and my mom is aware of this tour. she agreed to get me out of school early. its just my school is crazy strict that u have to have a good excuse to leave school early and your note has to be approved by the head of the administration. if u say u have a dentist or doctors appointment u need a note the next day. and i cant just stay home because i have 4 tests on wednesday and i need the information and my books.

    just graduated last year and my school was just like that. but i guess your parents are pretty cool, luckily mine are too. what grade are you in??

    awesome. enjoy it, live it everyday, but don't slack on your grades. colleges are getting harder and harder every year to get in to.

    I remember my dad gave that excuse to get me out of a day or two of school.

    But if he had to produce some sort of documentation for it, I dont think he would have let me go to that school in the first place.

    You mentioned that you will get out several hours after the tix go onsale.

    I dont think that will be a problem. that sjust my opinion. tix are still available for the first three shows.

    I agree with this person and think you should have your dad say it is a family matter! Otherwise have your parents buy it for you. When I was college my mom did this for me (and we lived in different states so it was interesting trying to coordinate things). If you come up with a better excuse let me know cuz I need one for Wednesday morning! :p If only I still had a male boss, then I could just say I was having "female problems" because in my experience, they just get embarrassed and don't ask any more questions! ;)
