anyhow consider reading this book. Vets recommend dry and canned food because they make a ton of cash from sick pets...hey...they (medical industrial complex) do it to US humans as well don't forget... you only need to go to your local supermarket and look at all the garbage on the shelves making people sick.

My dog is Raw fed.....for a year now....he is beautiful and very healthy, I will never feed dog food again.

It's great to see this thread! There was a TV show in Canada about how lax the regulations are for pet food industry....There is so much corn in cat food, it's not funny. Usually the appears in three forms (gluten, flour, etc) in different quantities - although the same thing, it is allowed to be listed separately throughout the ingredient list....but it turns out that if you add up all the corn, it's more than 1/2 what the food is made of!

So, I am in the process of switching my Meow-Meow Kitty to high protein, no grains, diet. It's going OK...I've mixed it with her reguarly kibble. It's made in Alberta and is called Orijen. The one thing I was warned about: because it's all meat and veg, her turds are more attractive to dogs!

That is a great food! You could also easily do the Raw diet with a cat. My boy is 110# Doberman and he only eats 2.5-3 pounds each day.
