Ah, I get you. Maybe BBC America handles the exports. It wasn't a BBC programme though. It was on Channel Four.
they show them over Stateside as "BBC"
Those two definitely, but I also love Red Dwarf. Cryton, the Cat, Rimmer, and Lister are the best comedic characters.

I mean, not the cable type shows...I guess what I am asking is - is BBC like our PBS? public TV? and if so - then why the hell does our PBS show so much of your programming?
when i was a kid my brothers used to watch a lot of PBS/BBC shows and I always thought it was one channel...as if you all only had ONE channel.
of course, on my own TV we only had 2, 4, & 7 and the local channels of 5,9, & 11...oh and the PBS channels.
ITV is, as the name suggests, Independent Television. It's commercial TV, and it was set up in direct competition against the BBC. It first started braodcasting in 1955. When I was a kid in the seventies, there were only three channels on TV: BBC One, BBC Two (started up in 1964) and ITV. Channel Four started in 1982 (owned by the IBA, tied with ITV), and Channel Five started in 1997. Those are the terrestrial channels. There are hundreds of satellite stations too, owned by this or that company.
