Ugh :( Although I'm a United fan, I will always cheer for Liverpool over Chelsea. That was a sickening finish. You better stick it to 'em at the bridge. Chelsea don't deserve to get to the final.

And how do you know about this if you're in Conneticut? Ex-pat I presume ;)

I'm gutted also. But this thread is kinda in the wrong place.

Sorry, no it isn't. I'm not paying attention to where I am. I'm an arse.

Referee was shocking. Chelsea played like animals (Terry, Ferreria) and got away with murder. They got every call the entire game. I hate Chelsea more than any other team in any sport for the way they complain about every decision that goes against them and surround the referee when they don't get every call. Terry is the worst offender and is my most hated "athlete" in the world. Cech was the only Chelsea player that showed anything today. Completely gutted right now.

I'll add to that - Drogba is the biggest fucking pansy in the game today (and ever) and he'll go over with a gust of wind. Christ, Even Ronaldo is learning to stay on his feet a bit these days. I FUCKING HATE DIVERS!!!!!!

At least Ronaldo as some excuse. He actually runs at players and is not the biggest guy in the world. Drogba is huge man and goes down like hes been shot at the slightest touch. Skrtel was class today. Dominated Drogba in every way.

I'll say this...your luck had to change soon.
It was an unfortunate error, one anyone could've made.
But let's see all the good luck you've had in this competition over the last 3 or 4 years, from Milan stopping at half time because they thought they had it won and let you back in, right to Dudeks 'miracle' save in extra time, through the penalty shoot out, through the changing of the rules to allow you back in the next year, through the 'not over the line' goal against Chelsea a coupla years back, through all the last minute goals from Gerrard...it just goes on.
Sorry guys, your luck changed tonight, it had to for the good of football as a whole. Be honest, you are be-littling the competition by challenging for it every year, with a side that can't even dream of winning the championship in their own country.
You'll be better off out of it, it'll save another embaressment at the hands of Man U. Or do you guys really believe you are one of the best teams in Europe?
    I came, I saw, I concurred.....

Harsh words Jamie! Would be from a Man U fan though :p

I think if they weren't one of the best teams in Europe, they wouldn't be at this point of the competition, and they wouldn't have got to two finals in three years. We all know they aren't the best team in England, but they can beat anyone in their day, they just lack the consistency. Benitez's game is in Europe aswell.

As for the original poster, Riise isn't useless. It was unfortunate, and could have happened to anyone.

    Dave, you're outed :p
Sorry, but Liverpool have blown my excitement about the European cup into dust with their shenanigans these last 3 or 4 years.
It's about time a real team of galacticos took it by the scruff again :D
And, alongside that..Cardiff City win the FA Cup, what a year!!!! :D:D
I agree about Riise, anyone who's ever kicked a football will know that what happened was just unfortunate, he's a decent player, and anyway, if he hadn't been there then Anelka would've scored himself.
    I came, I saw, I concurred.....

All he had to do was use his right foot for once in his life. His fatal flaw of being completely one footed finally came back to kill us.
  • JordyWordyJordyWordy Posts: 2,261
Riise probably had money down on a draw...and anyway, to be fair, a 95th minute stooping point blank header from 4 yards past his own goalie was a lot harder to do than a simple right-footed clearance would have been.
it took skill to do what he did

    joking aside,
i fucking hope Liverpool win 2nd leg. Chelsea didnt deserve that good fortune.
  • west ham are gonna snap him up for scoring an own goal like that, hammers havent had a good og since repka left :D Cant see liverpool going through now, chelsea wont get beat at the bridge and if you thought they got every decision tonight imagine what its gonna be like when they play at home, I fuckin hate chelsea, i still think united or barca are gonna win the champions league, Whats up with avram grant anyway? At least mourinhio gave good press conferences

And you guys do deserve good fortune? More good fortune? Come on, the ying was bound to balance the yang eventually, in fact it still hasn't, if it does, expect to lose 5-0 in the 2nd leg, and Everton to finish above you in the league, when you get deducted 10 points for being 'supremely cocky and misguided' about how good you are. :p

:D It's no big deal Dave, but imagine how Man U are now compared to liverpool, and have been since you can remember...well that was the other way around times 10 when I was growing up:D I'm just enjoying my time in the sunshine...and I apologise, but I love to remind the Liverpool fans how average they really are :) I mean, 19 years without a title? I remember when United were getting pelters for that, and when we won it, they all go...well, you have it this once, we wont take as long as you lot to win it back......:D

I can understand that...but I hardly think average is the word. If they were average, then they wouldn't get in the champions league, let alone get to the semi finals...or the final...or win it.

And I really REALLY can't wait for Sir Alex cocknose to retire. Remember when he was going to retire all those years ago? Oh if only he'd ****ed off when he said he was going to.

Be at peace with your issues Davey :) I'm mightily relieved to find out that for all your clever arsedness, you still care enough about football to hate another team :D
God bless you, you bitter Liverpool fan......I'll see you in Cardiff...?

I don't hate Man U. Not nearly as much as I used to. I have a lot of respect for the team, and think they play amazing football...I just don't like Sir Alex...never have done.

Chelsea on the other hand...I hate. Ever since they tried to buy the Premiership.

Chelsea havn't played any really good teams in the CL. They have had an easy ride compared to the others. I really hope Liverpool win at stamford bridge Chelsea just don't deserve it.

im not a Liverpool fan, im a United man. if Liverpool go through then Utd are much more likely to beat them than chelsea! (provided we knock barce out obviously)...thats why i want them to go through!

and no, i dont think Liverpool win it again anyway!

If Chelsea & United do go thru itll make for an even more interesting season finish....

God i hate Chelsea. worst team to watch in the world. Shelbourne are more entertaining

i'm quite pleased about the result... Liddypool have to be the most 'resting on our laurels' that exists in England these days... its not 1988 anymore ya hub-cap stealing schleppers ;):D

i'm a Notts Forest fan... we won the European Cup twice.. and that was back in the day when you had to win the fucking league to actually play in the thing.... glory hunting fuckers you lot ;)

Despite us losing to liverpool i was supporting them in this tie, and hope the win at the bridge next week...

Own-goals happen to the best defenders on occasion, but Riise made a huge mistake going for a header when a volley kick was the obvious choice. Either he misread the cross completely, or I dunno...

Any player who cannot clear the ball with his off-foot should not be in the EPL. Period.
