If you like to read and liked the movie then yes! I loved it as well as Silence of the Lambs. :)
"I'd rather be with an animal." "Those that can be trusted can change their mind." "The in between is mine." "If I don't lose control, explore and not explode, a preternatural other plane with the power to maintain." "Yeh this is living." "Life is what you make it."

I loved the book. Thought it was great. They also made a movie out of it back in the 80's with Peterson the guy who plays Grissom on CSI. They called it "Manhunter" though.

cool, i guess ill get the book.
i saw manhunter before i saw any other film from the series, and hated it. until last weekend, i was put off of all the hannibal series till silence of the lambs was on at like 12:30. i watched it, and really liked it. rented hannibal, was kind of dissappointed. rented red dragon, and now its probably in my top 5 favorite movies now. i dont think i want to see hannibal rising though, from what ive heard of it, it makes the whole thing look shitty. thanks for your input

William Petersen is his name. I was gonna post this also. But then I had to go to the bathroom.

Agree, Hannibal was disappointing. The others aren't though. :)

dont get me started on that suzi. such a michael mann film. it was atmosperic and so 80s. he does like things to look good if nothing else. i thought brian cox did a better job as lecture than hopkins did. but thats just my personal preference. hated the ending though. just as i hated the ending of the brett ratner red dragon. i dont know why they deviated from the book ending... it was so good and so in keeping with dollarhyde's m.o.. anyhoo did you know tom noonan, who played dollarhyde in manhunter, popped up in an episode of CSI. twas an ambiguous ending, which i loved. :)

I think I must have missed him on CSI... but that is cool. I hate, HATE it when they change the ending of a book when they make it into a movie. Pisses me off!! :D I liked seeing Ed Norton in it because I love him but now I am just wondering wtf he is doing as the Hulk??? but that is another thread.

Yes after "The Silence Of the Lambs" or was it the next one I found the books went downhill... just my two cents though :)

yes i love edward norton too. hwoever in red dragon i wasnt too keen on him. soemtimes he comes off as nervous and irritating in his work and that pisses me off. :D
the ending where they basically go sailing off into the sunset make me cringe.
oh oh and how about when they come to lecter at the end and mention some FBI agent wants to have an audience with him. i just about strangled soemone. i couldnt belive they did that. ridiculous.

as for the hulk, i think maybe it needed his gravitas. marvel apparently werent especailly thilled with the ang lee film a few years back so they decided to remake it. they want it to be truer to the comics and the tv series. i hear robert downey jnr pops up in it in a cameo as ironman. im totally seeing it now. :D

Norton was brilliant in Primal Fear and American History X and well alot more I realize :p What was the other movie.. was it Hannibal that the ending was totally changed??? I think it was. I stood up and said something at the end.. I really know how to impress my friends when we go out  :p

I have to see it for sure now too... I do think that the previews actually looked good so I except good things from Mr Norton :)

I think we should start doing "cate & suze do book and movie reviews" :D

Yes Hannibal was the one after Silence correct?? Agreed not anywhere in the leagues of his previous works.

damn thats a great movie! edward norton, anthony hopkins and ralph fiennes are three of my favorites (fight club, schindlers list, meet joe black etc)...

norton being in the new hulk movie is almost enough to make me want to go see it... though its still gonna be terrible (theres no way to make a good hulk movie! when will people understand! it was a shitty comic to being with!)

and the ending of red dragon that ties it right into SOTL... WOAH! doesnt begin to compete with a human face skin mask though :D

oh and to answer your question... yes read the book... harris' genious is only matched by hopkins' portrayal

I don't think he's going to be in uniform. Next year it's Capt. America. Then Thor. Followed by an Avengers movie.

well thats cool. it would be kinda odd for ironman to come face to face with the hulk. :D plus just stark will be better cause only the cogniscenti will get it. yes yes im a snob for that kind of shit. :)

i thought i saw a short clip of stark in a hulk preview today on TV... thought they had just merged both trailers together to pitch em both at the same time... this is a pretty sweet reason to see hulk though... unless its done in a really cheesy way... im guessing itll be after the credits like the end of iron man with fury

im pretty excited about the upcoming flash and thor movies... and of course dark knight (but that goes without saying)

    "SANTA FE!" :D

seriously though he is one of the most dedicated actors of this generation... have you seen "the machinist"?!? or the more recent one where he is a P.O.W.? he changes his weight like CRAZY just for roles... not to mention he was perfect for "american psycho"... definitely one of my favorite actors right now... must be selective with the roles he takes cause i dont see enough of him
