I couldn't help thinking of Tyler Durden when the Joker was getting beaten up and just kept laughing.
I only lied because it was the easiest way to get what I wanted.

tyler durden wasnt a murderer though. joker enjoyed killing. tyler's goal was to set man free from his own chains. joker just wanted to create chaos for the sake of chaos.

maybe joker and beetlejuice have something in common too. cause when the joker said "im a man of my word" he sounded like beetlejuice.

it seems like having your clothes custom made is bigger form of consumerism than buying name brands....................and i don't remember tyler ever saying he didn't wear name brands, i know he said "you aren't your fucking khakis", but it wasn't like he was getting his clothes at a thirft store or anything.....i think he was actually a pretty sharp dresser

well he was in a sense. his actions were just the persona of another person.

that doesnt make him real. it makes him a manifestation of the narrator's mind. his thoughts. he lacks a corporeal body. the joker in every sense is a person, tyler is not.

tyler was real though. he just didnt know he was tyler. tyler still boarded those planes and flew around the country starting fight clubs, that wasnt a ghost or anything. the narrator didnt know that when he slept, he became tyler, thats all.

no he wasnt a ghost. to the narrator he real in that the narrator was unaware tyler was him. to everyone else he was real. but in the end the narrator comes to realise that tyler was an illusion. a part of himself he was unaware of. oh crap i just argued myself onto your side. :D

but tyler and the narrator couldnt be in the same room at the same time as separate entities. they were two halves of a whole.

i cant believe im telling this but that last part about the same room business, reminded me of a dream i had where the narrator was doing tyler, and then he said something like "im masturbating" that dream still haunts me to this day.

hmm... were you the narrator or tyler? ;):p

and yet when it came down to it, the narrator decides to kill tyler. can you kill something that isnt real?

i was neither, i walked in on him/them...... but i saw both of them.

ive always wondered about the movie, why he thought tyler died and yet he didnt. if the shot didnt kill him, how did it kill tyler? the books ending is alittle different.

LMAO!! it was american psycho that turned me against him. he just annoyed the shit out of me as patrick bateman. i dont know what it is about him. but sometimes i just want to smack him in the jaw. i havent seen 3:10 to yuma or 'the magic one'. i saw him in laurel canyon and shaft and batman begins and im not there of course(though for me that film was all about cate blanchett and dare i say it, heath ledger). perhaps i should give him more of a chance. i just cant. i am planning to see the dark knight this week though. .

Agreed. It was comical and that just didn't fit his personality. I know he was trying to disguise his voice but he could have done something other than that stupid low growl.
