Quick question about tea

I have a few packages of loose tea (not in bags). The thing is a lot of little particles get through the infuser thing that I use. These little particles are safe to ingest, right? For some reason I'm under the impression that they give you kidney stones.

well, they usually sink to the bottom of the cup.. at least mine do. so you're not ingesting THAT much of them. :)

EDIT: so yeah anyway, point being, never done me any harm them particles. :D and I've been a tea-drinker for yeeeaaarrrrssss.

  • Those little particles are tea. You are already drinking it, it's ok to eat it.

Be careful with GREEN TEA, it's very bitter!

Yeah but I'm just not sure if your kidneys can't filter it or something.

The little particles are just tiny specs of tea leaf that get through the holes of your infuser. Perfectly safe to ingest. Nothing to worry about kidneys filtering, it will all be digested in your stomach.

    Enjoy your cup of tea!

It's the oxalate in Tea that makes you more prone to kidney stones, not the actual tea leaves themselves. The tea particles you're talking about aren't going to go through your kidneys anyway, they'll go through your digestive tract and you'll shit them out later. The oxalate will still be going through your kidneys though. Drink up, it'll be fine.
