Blech. Home for the summer from college, and now I have to go back to my job at the courtesy desk of a grocery store. Fun. I had a job at college too, but it was a really low-pressure and relaxed office environment, and I didn't mind it at all. But now it's back to lottery addicts, angry customers with refunds, and choking smokers who hurt my nose from across the counter. Hate, hate, HATE this job. I'm putting in applications to other places but I'm afraid I might not get anything better.

It's weird, because it's not like I don't like to work in general... I do. I like to be productive. Usually when it comes to work of any kind I can suck it up and realize that it needs to be done. But this job is so soul-sucking that it's really hard to think that way. It's hard to describe. I think it comes from the fact that the place is so poorly managed that customers always come to me when they're angry to complain, even though I have nothing to do with it. It's just like... fuck off you assholes, you think you don't like being here?

Ah well. Hopefully I can find something else sooner rather than later. And when I get out I'm gonna download "Take This Job and Shove It" and play it really loud. 'Twill be a glorious day. :D
It's a town full of losers and I'm pulling out of here to win

get a job bartending or waiting on tables. best way to make a buck when school is out. you'll probably end up working with/meeting cool people, and having fun doing it.

Yeah, but on the plus side, I bet they don't have a drug testing policy...
