I got a phone call from somebody my dad used to work with on Monday afternoon, they had found him upstairs in his house. He had MS but the last time I saw him he didn't seem all that bad. I have never been very close to him as he left my Mum just after I was born but we did have contact every now and then.
I met my half brother and uncle on Tuesday who I had never met before and it was really hard.

I will stop rambling now, I just wanted to get this of my chest.

I'm so sorry :( ... you must be in a complete mixture of emotions.

Can understand how getting it 'out there' can help so glad you could get it off your chest.

Thinking of you and sending {{{hugs}}} xx

I'm sorry for your loss. I know what you are going through. My Dad just passed away a little less than 2 months ago. :( My number 1 coping tool has been listening to lots of PJ. It allows me to focus on something besides the sadness.

I have just been trying to keep myself busy, I am running out of things to do now. I will be kind of glad to get back to work on Monday.

That's how I was. It was hard leaving my Mom by herself, but I just had to get back to work and focus on something else. The worst time for me is at night when I don't have those distractions.

I am very sorry for your loss. Regardless if you were close or not, he was still your dad.

My dad died 18 years and I am having a harder time with it now that I have my own family then I did when it first happened. He passed away when I was 18. I think it's more of the half my life with and half my life without. But I agree with the one of the other posts....listen to lots of Pearl Jam, it really does help.

Will you attempt to continue a relationship with your half brother and uncle? Not a question you can answer right now?

Take some time reflect. Try your best to get whatever is on your mind either out or at least on paper. Looking at your name, spend a lot of time surfing if you can, sitting on the rocks, walking on the sand, the ocean always seems to make me feel better.

I think I will try and keep in touch with them, I have another half brother who couldn't make it over so I will see him for the first time at the funeral.
It's just so strange to know that I have a whole other familly out there. I never knew I was an aunty.

Wow. That's a pretty tough and awkward situation. I'm very sorry for your loss. I know that it's painful to lose a parent, especially when you aren't expecting it. Hopefully, meeting and getting to know your new family members will be worthwhile and meaningful for you. Again, I'm sorry for your loss. All the best to you and your family in this difficult time.

    :o wow!

Well let's hope something good can come from this. How many nieces/nephews do you have?

You must be very confused right now... don't even try to force any answers or emotions... they'll come.

I have five from one of my half brothers but I don't know about the other one.

It's so strange the oldest one is 15.
