Hennaed hair

I am hennaing my hair this weekend, never done it before and wanted to see if anyone has any stories to share.

Good or bad.

    What colour is it? My best friend's brother did it a while ago and it was orange, bright ugly orange. It was freakin' awesome.

    More red than orange I hope, using paprika & tea to try and get a nice bright red.

    I did it once and I liked the way it came out - it was a deep red. I think it will depend on the color you're starting with. My natural color is a medium brown...light hair may turn out more orange

    He did it with three or four other people, almost everyone's hair was shades of red but his was bright orange. :D

    I put a red henna in my hair when i was in highschool. I made a HUGE mess of my mother's bathroom. Make sure you have lots of towels!

    It's quite light at the moment, I would say dark blonde to light brown.

    Thats ok I am not doing it at my house I will need some help and the boyfriend refuses, will be going to my mums house and if the weathers nice will be sat outside.

    I once had a henna tattoo, though. It was HUGE and awesome. But I had to scrub it off. :D Fun times!

    I tried to do my own once but it didn't really work, I think that may have something to do with the cheap henna I used though.

    The stuff I got to try and do a tattoo was from Tunisia all it did was left a very slight stain on my hand.

    It may just wind up being a bit brighter of a red. I think if there's any brown in your hair at all that will probably tone it down a bit

    I hear it's quite unpedictable anyway even if people have the same hair colour, guess I will just have to wait and see

    Don't forget to wear gloves! Also, henna smells very strongly, especially when you have it all over your head, just so you know. That was what bothered me the most when I tried it (a LONG time ago, can't remember the results, just the smell.)

    To be honest its a little bit more orange than I would have liked but its not to bad.

    How long did you leave it on? And did you use a particular "shade" or just henna. I ask because I bought some this weekend and they had many different "shades". I ended up with Auburn and my hair is brown. Can't figure on how long to leave it on. Any advice?

    I have no hennaed hair stories. :( The neighbor kids DID do mine with purple koolaid for a charity event once.

    I got some from Lush in block form called caca rouge. Its pre mixed with stuff to apparently make your hair really red! I left in on for just over two hours, would have left it on longer but I didn't have time.

    I think next time I will try to buy some loose and mix it myself.
    Also depending on what colour you want you can try adding in extra ingredients. If you want more of a red shine add paprika and mix with camomile tea but if you want a browner tone mix it using coffee.
