with it being the holidays, the fine folks that make the Chia Pet are advertising like mad...:eek:

my questions are...

why advertise only during the holidays?
has anyone ever given one as a gift?
has anyone ever received one as a gift?

and my last questions....why? who comes up with this? what drugs were they on and where can i get them?

    I've known a few people that have throw these in yankee swaps ...

    gag gifts, stocking stuffers .... yeah, I can see it as a minor part of Christmas shopping.

    If they ever come out with a Chia Isaac ... you know what to get me for Christmas ...

    i was given one by an elderly aunt when i was 8. it was a really cool gift, because she was trying to be hip.

    seriously she was. so I thanked her profusely and grew what appeared to be alfalfa sprouts on a dog (or maybe it was a cow)


    I no longer have it, but I can say that i used it as a planter for pot when I was 15 waste not want not. hahahaa

    that herb garden thing with the lights and the peat pockets...i think that would be a really great way of growing personal pot supplies.

    Chia pets were always the last minute panic gift that I would get for my dad growing up... Hell, it's tempting not to get him one these days. I think we've all had panic, last resort gifts for certain people in our lives... What can I say? The Chia pet fascinated me somehow... And my dad did enjoy the first three. After that he kind of asked me to stop buying them.
