To be honest I cant think of any good remakes

    Update: Oceans 11

Worst that I can think of right away..........Halloween, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Would list basically all horror movie remakes as terrible but the originals are all terrible as well.

  • seems easier to think of the worst rather than the best!

best: charlie and the chocolate factory
worst: pink panther. nobody's like peter sellers!

    Bad Remakes:
'Psycho' - Come on... you can't seriouly attempt to remake a Hitchcock classic and expect it to be any good.
'King Kong' - The Jessica Lange one was a joke... the Peter Jackson was better... but nothing beats that classic.
'Godzilla' - Godzilla is supposed to attack TOKYO!!! If he attacks New York... rename it to something like, 'Yo! Lizardman!".
'Planet Of The Apes' - We seen it before... there was no twist at the end.
'The Pink Pather' - Come on... Peter Sellers is the only one who can pull off Inspector Clouseau.
'Heaven Can Wait' - The Chris Rock one... the Warren Beatty one was a good remakes of 'Here Comes Mr. Jordan'.
'Shaft' - I like Samuel L. Jackson... but, he ain't no Shaft.
'The Posidon Adventure' - A horrible remake of a terrible original... like painting a picture of shit... using shit as your medium.
    Good remakes:
'Cape Fear' - Deniro was even scarier than Mitchem.
'War Of The Worlds' - This one I call a draw. The 1950s version was great... the Tom Cruise had great special effects.
'The Magnificent Seven' - Gets a slight nod over Seven Samurai... mostly because of the Marlboro song.
'Dracula' - Creepy... like the book. Not so campy as Bela Lougosi.
Allen Fieldhouse, home of the 2008 NCAA men's Basketball Champions! Go Jayhawks!
    Hail, Hail!!!
  • Pardoxically, The Wicker Man is both the worst and the best movie remake I've ever seen, if only for the uncontrollable laughter it induced when I watched it.

That's the name of that movie I was trying to think of yesterday. It's the one about being up in the North Pole with an alien being right.

These were the first two that came to mind. So bad!!

    You got that right!
Nic Cage has to be one of the worst actors out there. He has put out some truly dreadful performances.

Good; Cape Fear, The Manchurian Candidate was all right minus the creepy insinuated romance between mom and son.....gross

    So-So; Red Dragon.....was Manhunter
The Willy Wonka remake was not very good, but would have been worse if anyone but Tim Burton did it.

    Bad; Texas Chainsaw Massacre

So many priceless scenes, right from the beginning when the cop chases the car just to give a girl back her doll. 'You dropped this?'

    'Step away from the bike!'

'Get that mask off your kid!'

He runs around in a bear suit, punches countless women in the mouth.. it's just a hilarious movie all the way through. And the old twins! Priceless..
