I noticed they didn't add Brad Renfro in the dead people montage.

No Country definitely was the best picture. Couldn't be happier with that call.

as far as best actor goes, daniel day lewis definitely deserved the oscar. as much as I enjoyed Depp in Sweeney Todd, DDL's performance in There Will Be Blood was absolutely staggering. It will go down in history as one of the best acting performances of all time, methinks.

Why wasn't "The Kite Runner" nominated for best film? Just saw "There will be blood" and I think i should have spent the 3 hours cleaning up my garage.

and did a chandelier fall on nicole kidman? i know jewelry is usually flaunted during the oscars, but that get up was insane!

I never like the stuff she wears for the oscars... she always looks very harsh.

I don't think it's the stuff she wears. she doesn't look human anymore, she looks like a robot. she can't even move her face.

that's a good description. though i thought she looked better last night than she normally does at those events.

possibly, cos I found some old oscar pictures of her where she actually looked nice... I thought she was much prettier with her curly hair anyway.

Kate Winslett always looks fab though, found this old one... it's gorgeous.

I still haven't seen No Country, but so far, There Will Be Blood was my favorite film of the year. Daniel Day-Lewis was amazingly haunting in it, and the music gave me chills.

  • you're mixing a few things.

the stoner kid getting a chick pregnant is 'knocked up.' the actor is seth rogen and he is in 40 year old virgin, but he is NOT in arrested development. the actress in that movie is some blond chick.

the kid who gets the girl pregnant in juno is michael cera. he is the son in 'arrested development.' in the movie, he is not a stoner though, he is a runner. the girl is ellen page, the cute young brunette girl the camera panned to so often tonight.

did you see juno? i think perhaps the stoner you are thinking of might be... you ;)

The fact that you took time to explain all that is awesome.

I enjoyed There will be Blood. It is kind of a character study. Daniel Day Lewis is awesome and makes the movie.

That said No Country for Old Men was by far the best film i saw all year.

I watched it. It was extra boring. The most boring one I can remember. The dresses were all hideous to me except for Katherine Heigl. She is gorgeous.
And I like how Nicole Kidman looked and her necklaces.

I thought the nicest moment was when Glen and Marketa (?) (Sp?) won for Falling Slowly. I was so glad they beat all those cheesy Disney songs! How did they nominate THREE of them and not one EV song? That's not cool.

  • All I did was complain that Enchanted was in no way deserving of a single song nomination, and that Eddie should be glad that he want nominated against that shite. Goes to prove everything he says about awards might juust be true.

those songs from enchanted made me want to puke. what a pile of absolute shite. alan mencken should be banned from composing songs for movies forever. yahoo for little irish films shot with handycams about musicians who can actually put a tune together that pull at the heart.
.....and oh yeah...eddie vedder was so severely ripped off for not even being nominated i cant even fathom it.

Daniel Day-Lewis takes his place in the single digit club of double best actor winners :)

    Well deserved too.

I thought 'There Will Be Blood' was incredible, as was 'No Country for Old Men.' And I agree with the majority regarding the 'Enchanted' songs..that shit was painful..

i love jon stewart, but i agree totally with this. the oscars just dont fit him right. he and his sense of humor are too reserved for that grand a stage/scale. you need someone a bit more animated.

I found it very boring. When they start with all the technical awards it becomes a snoozefest for me. I'm not saying these people don't deserve to get awards, it's just boring to watch :p

i don't really understand why some people attend the oscars...

jessica alba: never ever gonna win one. there's no award for most photogenic.

    miley cyrus: ?

guess it's just another party...another place to be seen.
