Got lucky and found one today. I have a 360, but my fiance really wanted a Wii. The last Nintendo product I bought was an NES. Does anyone have any suggestions on what games I should get for this thing. I bought Wii Play because it came with the extra controller, but I'm looking for "Real Games". Thanks in advance.
I'm trying to drink away the part of the day I cannot sleep away...

    wii = US$300
    mario party 8 = US$ 45
    beers = US$ 25
    friends = free

    combination of all....priceless!!
  • I have Madden 08, probably the greatest sports game I ever played, works the best for the wii, you actually throw the ball, tackle, kick, etc. what could be better.
    Things were different then. All is different now.
    I tried to explain. Somehow.

  • mom question here....

    We are a certified PS2 and PS3 family but I have been considering the Wii for my son's birthday present. What games are out there for kids? Granted, I have two boys who want to play every shoot-em-up game NOT appropriate for their age. I am a tad bit liberal and will let them play *some* age-innappropriate games (but not Grand Theft Auto!).

    I also like to play games with the kids (just can't seem to get them into SingStar with me....*sigh*...) so any guidance on games that interest me are also appreciated....you know, in the name of "family fun" and all that....

    One moment they're playing Grand Theft Auto, the next moment they're smacking bitches around, hijacking your car, running down pedestrians and firing a rocket launcher at the police.. How will they ever draw the line!

    Just stick with Mario and the worse that will happen is them jumping off of furniture, picking flowers and eating mushrooms..

    :p

    firing rocket launchers at police...check
    smacking bitches..... as a "mom" am I considered a "bitch"?.... check..

    all I have to worry about them playing Mario is potentially eating trippy mushrooms??? Um.... gotta go buy my kids a Wii and a Mario game.....

    I have a "trip" to take...

    Carnival is great for kids. I find it kind of boring but my littles, 4 & 5 , love it. We also recently got Playground for my son's 7th birthday and all my kids are enjoying it.

    For the whole family we love Wario! It is still the most played game after we have had it for months.

    I want to get My Sims, but I am a Sims junkie.

    My girls, 4 & 5 year olds still love Cooking Mama too. It's ok.

    I wasn't interested in Spiderman, everyone got bored with the new Zelda when we downloaded Zelda Ocarina of Time.

    We actually play a lot of downloaded games.

    ETA some of the Sports are quite fun. My 7 year old can beat everyone in Tennis and my 5 year old beats us all at bowling! It's fun when they can beat mom and dad! At least they think so.

    Oh we had fun with the first Rayman too, but some of those games are hard for this old lady :D

    This is all you need to know.

    This isn't. While they obviously like the game, the overwhelming majority did not. Go to http://www.metacritic.com/games/wii/scores/ and look at the scores for Wii games to get an idea of what to look into and what to avoid.
  • RE 4 is great
    Game Party is a good bit of fun
    MarioParty 8

    plus it plays gamecube games if you have the gamecube controllers.

    I love my Wii

    We mostly play the Sports game that come with the Wii. Tennis is awesome, but i wish there were more players beyon 2000 points. I'm stuck playing the same people over and over because the program doesn't have better players.

    We bought the Olympic games (Mario vs Sonic) for Christmas. Has anyone tried it yet? Seems like it would be pretty cool.

    Other than that... we have Madden, my husband enjoys that. I have Marvel United (I think that's the game), but I get bored with it easily.
  • My girlfriend likes the Game Party. It has Pinc Gup (think beer pong) Darts, shuffleboard, pop-a shot, trivia, ski ball, and air hockey. It's a lot of fun the way Wii sports is fun.
