I am getting a treadmill delivered. I opted for the "turn the key" service. That means the bring it in the house, assemble it, and take the garbage away. This service costs between 250 and 300 bucks. Would u still tip and how much? Will be 2 guys

yea I'd tip accordingly. Those guys probably don't make that much and frankly I'd feel bad. But I'd do it only if they deserved it. If they're polite and careful with stuff around your house then yeah give whatever you think is appropriate. If they're rude and aren't respecting your house or apartment then don't tip. oh and if it looks like a lot of work, offer a drink or something, that's always nice.

edit: oh and like nowayi'mfaithfull said, I'd probably give 20 each.

  • Thanks guys. Trying to do the right thing. Sometimes you don't think about it enough till it's over and then you have regrets.

Why do you have to tip the delivery service when you are paying 250$ for it already?

Nobody tips over here. In fact, it's your moral duty to the god of bourgeois ascendancy, to kick a minion at the first opportunity.

Interesting... but i bet the waiters there don't get $2 an hour. It's all about what is customary for the service in you're culture and not ruining some hard working dudes day by being the cheap skate.

I wouldn't tip them unless I had money to throw around. I could be wrong, but I've never considered the product assembly industry to be one that customarily accepts gratuity. It's not like a restaurant where the wages are kept low due to the assumption that tips will make up the difference.

Yeah I would definitely tip. As for how much, I guess whatever you are comfortable with.
