hey guys,
i'm leaving for vegas in a week and have a couple questions for anyone that has been. Pretty much what should i not miss?
I'm staying right in the middle of the strip at Bill's so it's a great location, just wondering about some stuff to do before i blow everything gambling lol. I'm going with my dad but will be alone most of the time probably.
Thanks in advance

I posted on my trip to Las Vegas called 9 Days In Las Vegas and Mainly All a M. E. S. S..
I had a great time and something I'll never ever forget. Also if you get a chance take the deuce bus down to the old strip to Freemont Street and watch the largest video montage in the world played to music above the street. Best thing it's free, it's $2 each way on the bus.
Enjoy your time there and the heat to me was no factor, it's dry heat and we always had a breeze while grilling by the pool. I know I will be back there in the future for sure very soon.

I go quite a bit really, when I'm not busy, I'll go once sometimes twice a month. I probably go around 8-12 times a year.
There's a ton of sites for everything there really, and Vegas is a place where you don't have to plan anything, you can wing it there and have a great time.
As far as must-see? That all depends on your taste. To some people, they love downtown and going to fremont, to others, that place is a dump. Others like going to margaritaville while others would rather go to Sin. Their shows range all over the board too.
It's vegas, there's something there for everyone, so again it just depends on your tastes.0 -

"Bill's"?I live here and have never heard of Bill's. Hope it's not Buffalo Bills - if so, you're 40 miles south!

lol nope it's not buffallo bills. It's a smaller hotel directly connected with the flamingo. It used to be called Barnaby Coast but was bought by harrah's and is called bill's gambling hall and saloon now.
thanks for the advice guys, i'll try to hit up freemont to check out the montage. I just can't believe you never gambled a cent g. I don't think i'll be able to control myself to that extent lol. I think i'm going to go golfing 2 or 3 days so now i've got to check out some course. Probably going to rent a car aswell."I'll ride the wave where it takes me"

I felt quite proud walking past all those people spending countless hours sitting playing those machines. I didn't know they had such a thing as penny and nickel slots. I must be one of the few go to LV and lose 7 pounds and feel as strong as an ox, then I had to be to handle my lady.
When we go back though I know I'll place a bet, at least one. We should be married by then.

No shit??? Man, I'm out of the loop. It was the Barbary Coast, but I know where you mean. It doesn't get much more central. When I moved to Vegas, we used to get 50 cent drinks at the Barbary. If I had known then what I know now...

I love Vegas, but haven't been able to go for a couple years.
You really should see the Bellagio. Specifically the ceiling with all the Chihuly glass. It's fantastic. And that fountain/music show at night is kind of cool.
As far as shows or stuff like that, I'm not sure if they still play there, but Blue Man Group or Penn and Teller are always lots of fun.0 -
You would be much better off spending your vacation in nearby Zion, Bryce, or Grand Canyon. Vegas is worth a few days, but in no way can it match the beauty of nature.Be Excellent To Each OtherParty On, Dudes!0

Just got back!!!
Spent 3 days at NY NY. Had a very successful gambling run... won about $1750.
Learn how to play one or two games BY THE BOOk. Meaning maximize your chances of winning... I like blackjack and video poker. I also play texas hold em but that isn't a beginner's game.
As for shows, Zumanity is great. You can go to a time-share tour that lasts two hours, and you get tix for $20 instead of the normal price of $75 per. Keep in mind this show is pretty erotic so don't take the parents there!!!
Walk the strip. Drink beers outside in public.
Eat a $20 buffet at one of the higher end casinos. Some of the best food you'll ever eat!!!Everything not forbidden is compulsory and eveything not compulsory is forbidden. You are free... free to do what the government says you can do.0 -

Ya i'm getting a room at bill's on the top floor with a view of the fountains hopefully. Ya both of those shows would be great (i'm hoping to get to the penn and teller show) but i'm going to try and keep that part of the trip cheap so i have more for gambling lol"I'll ride the wave where it takes me"

that's awsome on the winningsi doubt i'll be coming close to that lol.
I play about the same games, mostly hold em though. I've heard that there are sit and go's every day at different casino's, so i'm going to try and make 1 every day or 2. If i'm not doing that i'll be playing blackjack or craps probably. I've never been into slot machines so i don't know much about video poker, how does that work?
Where abouts this the time share time, my dad would probably really like zumanity so maybe that'd be something for the 2 of us one night. I'm sure i'd be able to find 2 hours at some point lol.
Any casino buffets you'd recommend?"I'll ride the wave where it takes me"

i bet more people on this website have been to vegas, because pearl jam played there, rather than take the time to see the sights around their home.
also.....i did enjoy just walking around there.live and let live...unless it violates the pearligious doctrine.0 -

Bellagio is right across the street pretty much from where i'm staying, so i'll make sure to take some pictures of this.
I wish this card was better ceg so i could convince myself that the 250 would be better spent on tickets that bets. It is UFC though and would definatly be a good time though."I'll ride the wave where it takes me"

That was my first wake up call that this place Vegas is someplace out of this world. Bought beers at some local motel near Hooters then when to the fight which was $8 for a 12 oz beer at Mandalay Bay. Zumanity was awesome and funny.

We love this restaurant at Paris: http://www.monamigabi.com/vegas/about/
Awesome food/wine and outside seating offers great views as it's on the strip across from the Bellagio..
