tomorrow, Wed 4/23, the new Chipotle at 269 Amsterdam (I think it's btwn 72nd and 73rd) from 11am to 8pm is giving away burritos and sodas.

I don't know if it's a full size burrito or what, but it's free food!

Neat!

Qdoba has runny beans. I vote for Chipotle! (Taco Trucks rule over all of them though)

Chipotle is good for Chicken burritos, but when it comes to a yummy unhealthy beef burrito, nothing beats Campos, or Titos, in L.A.

the poor northeasterners have to take what they can get ... but I didn't know what decent burritos were until I moved out here ... or what decent Mexican food was until I moved out here and started dating a girl of Mexican descent! :D

the best burritos I've ever had in my life were in the Mission district in SF. I can't think of a name of a particular place though. Nothing beats that.

hmm, I live a few blocks away from said Mission district ....

Pancho Villa is good, as is La Cumbre ... there are plenty here though.

Chipotle is the best. 3 steak soft tacos and I'm good. Tons of sodium in their food though.

    Have fun!

My recommendation is that if you want to go to a Mexican restaraunt, don't go to the ones in the city ... they're pretty crappy. Taquarillas, good times (again, Pancho Villa, La Cumbre here in the Mission) ... restaurants, not so much.

the restuarnats ... there's Puerto Allegre in the Mission ... WAY over rated ... lots of the Marina snobs come down and "slum" it here ... their margaritas will knock you on your ass though ... damn ... it's more like a pitcher of tequila with a squirt of lime juice.

Do not fall for Tres Agaves near the ballpark either, no matter what your concierge may say ... especially around a Giants game, place gets packed and it's not that good.

The best Mexican restaurants are in the east bay ... I've give the name of my girlfriend's parents place, it's *really* good ... but, I'm not sure I want to broadcast it on the board. ;)

Funny, my favorite Mexican place is down by you ... Las Casuelas, there are two, I tihnk. We always hit up the one in Palm Desert the night before Coachella ... which, I've made abundantly clear that I'm bummed not to be going this year.

not sure if I want any spicy food in my system right before a 12 hour day in the sun x 3!

Yeah, you got to be careful with that ... Coachella's a marathon, not a race. I always stayed at the Westin Mission Hills ... I'm too old for that campin' crap ... enjoy!

We are staying at the Hilton Garden Inn, so we should be able to get some rest. I got all access wristbands, and I know of all the good spots with couches in shady areas, so hopefully we don't tire too quickly.

    weather doesn't look that bad ... high 90s / mid 60s ... to me, that's perfect.

nothing like those 115 degree days of 2004 (yet, still my faovrite Coachella)

We had "free burrito day" here in South Jersey when the Moorestown Mall location opened a few weeks ago. You get a free normal-sized burrito and a drink, and there is no charge. They don't even have the registers open or anything.

But let me tell you, expect a line, lol!! It was a madhouse in there. And the pace at which these poor souls were making the burritos was so manic that it almost made me feel dizzy to watch. I felt bad for them.

But it was awesome. :D We hadn't had chipotle since before we moved here from Chicago, so it was a long time coming. My hubby was in heaven. :D

edit. oh, I see you went. awesome. :D
