I hope no one here was affected by this, it's just terrible that this has happened again:

Some pretty scary sh*t - this is the second one in a few months. Ugh, I have so many friends that work in the city. Hopefully, they are OK. I certainly hope there are no fatalities, but knowing the size of those things....... =(

2 fatalities thus far, including the crane operator. There were injuries also. I don't know how many. It's just awful

Here in Las Vegas, we have lost something like 9 guys working on the multi-billion dollar "City Center." The developers act like they care and then, it's like, "Get back to work; we're losing money." :( I pretty convinced OSHA can be bought.

I had a crane collapse on my jobsite about 8 months ago. It was lifting a 60,000 lb steel tower frame and got top-heavy. The operater let the line loose to keep the crane from flipping over. By some miracle, the tower wedged between two very large concrete silos and stayed suspended about 40 feet off the ground. Had it not, I estimated four people would have died and about 20 more would have been at serious risk.

That said, proper planning and safety considerations were taken into account before we made the lift. The operator was seasoned and professional. Sometimes, accidents just happen. We just got lucky.

I know...it's horrible. They need to do something about it.
These cuts are leaving creases. Trace the scars to fit the pieces, to tell the story, you don't need to say a word.
