Since nobody has started a thread about this highly addictive show, I will!

Bourdain is absolutely great. His attitude and cynicism is outrageously funny. I feel so much more travelled since watching nearly every eposide of No Reservations. I also know of many things in Mexico and Greece that I'll never put in my stomach.

His book Kitchen Confidential is a stellar read. I cannot get enough of this guy.

Yep, it's entertaining and informative. I've just caught it a few times, but have enjoyed it. :)

I didn't like the book I read that he wrote, or maybe it was an excerpt. His focus seemed rough around the edges, and I don't agree that food has to be presented that way. I don't know if he supports a community approach or a winner-takes-all approach currently. I.e., food should be loved or tackled.

Anyway, when I saw the title of the thread I thought of the movie. It is a foodie movie with Catherine Zeta-Jones. It's based on the German movie Mostly Martha. Those are good, too.

My friend and I both read his book and after reading about how supportive his wife was, we both joked that he was probably divorced now and lo and behold...

His show grates on me. He seems condescending to the people he meets. One show he was riding his motorcycle in Mexico and said something in spanish that even I, with my limited high school course work, was like, "He has no idea what he just said. Your llamo es muy gordo?"

He's a one-trick pony for his snarkiness, imo.
