I've always been fascinated with Alaska and Machu Picchu since I was a kid. Saw Alaska a few years ago and it was amazing so Machu Picchu is probably tops on my list. Then probably Octoberfest in Germany.
I came into this thread to say Machu Picchu :)

Also I'd love to see rural China.

    a sky dive

    a cliff dive

Hehe. I'm sure I could come up with something big and colorful.

I had a chance as a younger man to meet the real Hayduke, but I had just started reading Abbey so I elected to go camping that weekend instead of attending his speech. A good friend of mine went and told me all about it. I've been kicking myself for the last 15 years. Hayduke's books are stellar as well. Walking it Off and The Grizzly Years are both great reads.

I used to have 3 places I wanted to see before I died:

    Heidelberg, Germany
    York, England
    St. Petersburg, Russia

I've been to Heidelberg and it's one of my happiest memories so now I have the other 2 left.

But I also visited Barbados just for a day in 2002 while on a cruise. We went to a beauty spot at the highest point of the island and stayed about an hour. It was so pretty and peaceful that I promised myself I'd go back again someday. :)

I've always wanted to see Christ the Redeemer and San Iguazu Falls. Going to South America for 6 months in September, so it's gonna be a dream come true. Ridiculously excited, doesn't seem real that I'll be in Rio in less than 2 months!

Sistine Chapel was always number one. When I finally saw it a couple years ago, it was pretty overwhelming.

Now - probably Egypt. And Scotland.

And Pearl Jam from the front row.

What I would like to see before I die is when people stop hiding behind false names and just be decent instead of trying to be overdramatic and just plain crazy.
    Am I asking too much?
For this board to not be a soap opera?
Cause I'm broken when I'm lonesome
And I don't feel right when you're gone away

    Asking for too much? No.
    Will it ever happen? No.

no, but it's kinda lame if the only thing you want to see before you die is an internet message board to not have drama.

    me:
redwoods/sequoias (i got a taste in san fran, but i want to see the real deal).
    northern lights
    great wall of china
