    Yeah, I'm glad the Phils didn't get themselves locked up in a long-term big money deal with Rowand. I like him and wish he would have stayed, but I don't think he'll duplicate the numbers he had last year.

    Especially not in that park he won't. Going from CB Park to AT & T Park will be a rude adjustment for him.

    i agree no 5yr deal but at least offer him a 3yr offer with options based on his stats. Rowand was great in the club house and the who protects howard? Burrell won't give u a solid whole season maybe a good month or two. they keep saying pitching,pitching but u lose a bat like that it's gotta hurt.

    I loved Rowand and how he played the game, but it was business decision. No way your getting 5 good years out of him. I think the Phils made the right move, just hopefully the make another one and fill that void in the lineup. Victorino going to Center,then you got Pat and Werth in the outfield who aren't everday players.

    i'm a white sox fan who appreciated what he did in '05. what is he now, 30? to give him that dough at 5 years is just silly. he's a great guy and i'm happy for him, and even with the white sox shitty offseason...i still wouldn't want him back at that price.
    i wish him good luck, though.
