    Have you EVER played golf? It does take athletic skill to bomb it when you need it, slice, hook and slow one's heartbeat down to make a crucial putt in a Major to beat one's opponent.

    So world class chess players are athletes also then?

    Or is it the walking part that qualifies him as an athlete?

    If he uses his golf cart all the time is he less of an athlete?

    if not...then if chess players play on a moving golf carts are they now athletes?

    are world class billiards players also athletes?

    golf is a sport correct? Pool is a sport correct? Do u need athelthic ability to be good at either? I would say yes, and because of that name another athlete that is better at there sport then tiger is at golf. The man is 32 and tied for 3rd on the alltime win list 32 not 52. I only watch golf because of tiger there's not another sport i watch because of 1 player. Tiger hasn't lost a match in over 6 months and to drain a 25ft putt on the last hole to win your 7th overall tourny in a row i would say that makes him a athlete and a damn good one at that.

    Billiards is about as demanding as painting a picture... are painters athletes because they stand and hold their arms out for hours with precision and skill?

    I'm not seeing the athlete designation here at all.

    If golfers are athletes then why do so many of them have huge pot bellies? Golf is far from an athletic sport...gmab... Golf isn't a sport it's a skill. ...you compete against a little white inanimate ball that wants to stay still.

    I don't really see much difference between a baseball player and a golfer. Go out and walk 18 holes and take your 100 to 120 strokes and see how you feel. Now do it for 4 days in a row. Granted most golfers don't look like tri-athletes but the skill involved is undeniable. The fact is that one of the many reasons Tiger is SO good is because he is in such good shape.

    Golf does take some athletic ability but it's more of a skill than anything. I do have respect for what Tiger Woods does because anyone who has played golf knows what a pain in the ass it can be. He is the most dominate in his sport right now and maybe ever.

    The greatest athlete I've ever seen was Bo Jackson. That guy was unreal.

    You bet it takes a lot of athletic ability and TW is on FIYA!. Bo, well Bo was out of this world like the far side of the Sombero Galaxy.

    They both did or do things that make one's jaw drop plain and simple.
