A target hasn't been met and I've given up my fucking day off to meet it.

Fuck targets.

Fuck goal-orientated people.

And fuck workaholic bosses who have no life or source of self-esteem other than in meeting targets.

Thanks for letting me vent.

i would never do that... although i would do it for double time or some leave time added.

    are you working for free?
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.
  • I'm training for a full-time position so not on a full-time pay packet yet, but it's something.

I need to be more fucking assertive though. This isn't on and I just tend to grin and bare it.

  • Somebody better call the waaaaaaaaambulence!

    So they'll keep doing it.

Companies have a habit of seeing just how much they can make their staff do for very little... and quite early on... so they can get more and more out of you as it goes along.

I've NO problem doing overtime WHEN NECESSARY and if I've nothing planned... but I always say cheerfully 'yep, I've no problem staying back today. That suits me fine actually cos I want to leave early Friday' :) and you can see the realisation dawn that they're not gonna be able to take advantage of ya :D

I would work my day off - my company loves giving me overtime. I wouldn't make a habit of it though.

Also, I would never work a job that requires targets/earning commision.

What is this day off you speak of?

The last time I took a Friday off, I worked about 10 extra hours in the 4 days preceding just to make sure nothing fell through the cracks.
