How are we related.

Over the weekend we had a huge 80th birthday for my grandfather and a ton of family showed up. Now, I am in a very big family. My father has 11 brothers and sisters and we were trying to figure out how this huge group of people are related. My questions are:

How am I related to my grandfather's, brothers, sons, kids?

and

My kids to my cousins kids?
Hey, you wouldn't hire a clown to fix a leak in the jon so why do you let these hooligans tear down the biz? YEEAAHHH. I don't care if he is Mr. Notorious BIG, can he croon?

    I think this is correct

    Your Grandfather's Brother is your Great Uncle

    Your Grandfather's Brother's kids are your Second Cousins

    Your Your Grandfather's Brother's kids kids are your Third Cousins

    Your cousin's kids are your Cousins once removed

    Your children to your cousins kids are second cousins.

    in those situations i just accept the fact that we're all blood related somehow so we're all cousins. we treat each other with such love, yet oddly enought if we weren't related we'd never be friends. strange how things like that happen.

    Haha - It's exactly the same with my family....And it's almost an instant attachment....very strange....

    I always thought that your cousin's kids are cousins once removed to yourself. And your kids to them are second cousins. But again, i could be wrong.

    Yeah that's right.

    Just that Grandfather's kids = your parent

    Grandfather's brother (your parent's uncle) kids = your parents cousins = your cousins one generation removed

    If I am right then Your parent's cousins to yourself are your second cousins not first cousins once removed. I now have a headache ..

    If you are really really close with your cousins then you should consider yourself an Uncle to those kids.

    I know I do with all of my cousins kids!
