Hillary Clinton is coming to my neck of the woods tomorrow. I was going to try and get her to sign my first edition copy of Bill's book (of all things) Actually I do have my copy already signed by the former President from his stop in Chicago in 2004. But that was for a book tour. How does one actually accompish this on the campaign trail? Doors open @ 8:15am event begins @ 9. Do I just have to show up way fucking early?? Anyone know how this works?

  • She might be offended if you ask her to sign her husband's book! You know she has her own book out right? I'd pick up a copy of that.
I saw her a few years ago at a book signing. I got there around 6pm and didn't get to see her until aruond 11 pm! It was a really friken long time!

Yeah but I collect signed books and I'm kinda picky. Like I doubt I can find a hardback one tonight. I only do hard back, no paper back (well maybe just this once)

I thought the same thing. Why would she want to sign someone elses book? :)

Really? I have one in hardback. I would think that any bookstore would carry her book in hardback. Especially since she's running for the democratic nomination. I bet you will find one.
As to getting her attention during the campaign... that could be hard.

  • Cause she's his wife and then I'd have both signatures on there. I'll probably get a paper back. I got basketball great Oscar Robertsons autobiography signed by him (I shook his hand, man was it big) then I worked at this resturant right by my house and one day I saw Adrain Smith one of Robertson's team mates and I ran home and got him to sign it. He didn't mind.....I think he was flattered that a 20yr old knew who he was.

Well I figure if I got there super early I guess I could get a good seat up close..... and after shes done speaking and starts shaking hands I could run and get it. But I have no idea how they do the seating I mean I'm sure secret service has to strip search you with full cavity search first.

Yea you'll figure it out. I hope you are able to get her autograph. :)

  • she signed my "Hillary" sign last week in Columbus. i wasn't up front, though that would probably be your best bet, so get there when the doors open. when she started signing on the other side of the stage first, everyone rushed over there, leaving a nice open space for me and some other people for when she later returned to get us. she tries to meet as many people as she can, so be patient and don't piss off the secret service guys by shoving others, reaching over people's heads with your item, or waving a sign or book over the railing. If you look like you are being patient, some members of her staff will make a mental note and make sure you get what you want.
she has a sharpie with her so no need to worry about bringing one.

and she only signs her first name.
