Oh my mom is like that, too! I hate driving when she's in the car, because she always assumes that I don't see a car coming in my direction, or something, and says "Oh watch out!!" which makes ME panic, and think that there's something coming that I don't see. (Does that make sense? lol) Anyway, it drives me nuts.

My mum is the same way... especially since she is unable to drive anymore. I feel for her but it is quite distracting when she says something and it seems like I missed something. I once switched lanes.. and I mean SWITCHED. Checked over my shoulders and signaled and all that good stuff AND she said I was "weaving in and out of traffic" . Well I am sorry if on the highway I did NOT want to stay behind the car going 60k

Holyshit....my mother's the same. I picked her up the airport less week, as I was driving on the highway, she's screaming "stay on right lane. go slower. Let them pass you. " Blah blah blah. She makes it worst!

    No :(

I really would love to drive motorcycles but I think I would be too nervous. Although after watching "The Motorcycle Diaries" I totally wanted to drive across South America... minus the lepers.

I can parallel for you if you like ;) Love it. I am such a NERD... I LOVE, LOVE backing into a parking spot  :o

Now I am looking at cars :)

I love to parallel park too. Ok, this is going to be really nerdy, but when you are backing in do you love when you hit the sweet spot. The spot that when you turn the wheel the car just glides right into the space and fits perfectly! (Am I still talking about parking?) I always give myself a gold star, when I park like that. I keep them in the glove box. :D

Well, My mom is totally old school and she believes in everything she sees in the news channels(who hardly ever reports on positive things), so her view on life in the U.S. is harsh and all good people are vulnerable of bad acts from bad people.

She's been a single mother since I was 8 years-old! You can see why. :p

She sounds like my mum...when I told her I was going to NYC she was all very "you could get shot or killed or god knows what"... I said "I live in Calgary, mum. That could happen to me on 7th Ave" ...

My mum has been a single mum always.

You could drive your motorcycle across Europe... start in France and go down to Portugal... that sounds lovely :)

Count me in on that one! I have such a jones for a chopper. I used to ride when I lived in California. Someday, I am going to get one, and I am going to take Route 66 from Chicago to LA. That is a pilgrimage everyone should do!

Get your license. As much as it bothers me considering that my work and studies are all dedicated to the environment, there are few things I find as relaxing and empowering as just getting in the car, putting on some good music, and just driving until I don't know where I am anymore

I've actually tried looking into getting a motorcycle license. In MA, you need to get a permit first that last for 6 months or something with daylight and dawn regulations.

Then a friend of mine who's a rider said to go to a bike riding course and take classes, you'll be on the road and save some $ on insurance too.

From what, a few of them tell me is that...it's the 4-wheel drivers that bikers are more concern with than the road itself.

That is quite true. Most drivers don't see motorcycles. That blind spot when you change lanes that cars often appear in is even worse for motorcycles. Motorcycles on the road by themselves would have very few accidents. Also, stop signs are another place cars cream motorcycles.

My mom's 48/49, i think her preying days are done as well...She's more concern that I'm NOT married yet. She wants to be a grandma or something.

How you get to Calgary, Canada?

Other than that...hehe....sure...you'll be just fine....
