i have a fear of my parents dying too- in fact i had a dream last night that one of them died and i also fear dismemberment. i hear about people losing their fingers or hands all the time (i grew up in a factory town). :(

Being disfigured.

After the boiling water incident, I almost lost it. I still am really paranoid about the marks it left on my chest and stomach. But I'm getting better.

I'm also scared of heights, spiders (especially the ones you find when you pull back the shower curtain and they're just sitting in the damn bathtub like they belong there....ew), JUNEBUGS, car accidents, dying alone...I am not afraid of death, I just do not want to die alone, I'm afraid of losing any more loved ones....

public speaking, definitely. i could even be in a room with 4 other people and when it's my turn to speak, i can barely get through it. that's my biggest fear today, i guess. when i was a kid, though, my worst fear was hearing the words "after school" meaning some kid wanted to fight me after school. i was deathly afraid of getting into fights as a kid. bullies terrified me. i was such a pussy. today, i'll give someone a go if they have a problem.

I'm afraid of anything ever happening to either of my kids.

I get a little nervous everytime I have to take my youngest son to see his cardiologist. He had 3 open heart surgeries before he was two and a half years old. He's almost 7 now and doing great. He's been doing terrific since he was 3 but there is that little nagging peice of me that always worries about something not being just right. I guess it's something I can't control and that drives me nuts!!

my biggest fear is falling though ice and frezzing. oh and i guess being stuck on the 401 in Toronto with no radio. strange i know, but man if you are every stuck on the 401 you can understand.

Those are the worst two things in my opinion.

Strange, I don't really fear drowning ... very weird because I can imagine it must be horrible (I almost drowned when I was 8, was afraid of water for 2 years)

Maybe it's because I have already overcome fear of water and I'm an excellent swimmer.

same here, almost drowned when i was younger...have never been able to learn to swim...

good for you to overcome it!
