When I was younger and working as a cashier in retail.... I always comment to the customer how sweet I thought it was when they would buy teddybears, roses...etc for their "significant other" on any normal day of the week... So my question is -

"What is the most sweetest thing you have seen someone buy for another?

Together we will float like angels.........

In the moment that you left the room, the album started skipping, goodbye to beauty shared with the ones that you love.........

A few years ago, I lived in an apartment in Chicago. There was a really mean maintenance guy named Rocco that lived and worked in the building. He was so intimidating and scary that I didn't want to call him when I locked myself out, lol.

But, my entire perception of him changed when, on Valentine's Day, my (then) boyfriend spotted him buying a huge teddy bear at the Walgreen's in the ground floor of the building. :D

Not trying to take anything away from your thread, as I think it's a good one, but personally I don't see things such as flowers or teddy bears as particularly sweet. Sure, they're nice enough, but little to no thought goes into them, and they don't really show that you know the person at all.

Back to the point of the thread. Something sweet (apparently) that I bought someone was a replacement of a very very small thing that was lost, but meant a lot to them.

I agree... but the sweetest thing can be anything like yours.... sentimental items carry no value whatsoever since the are but nothing less than pricessless
  • I saw an elderly guy buying reading glasses for his girlfriend (they lived in the same retirement home) and he went through all of the ones on the stand looking for red/purple frames. because she liked to do puzzles, and she liked those colors.
I thought that was as good an example of sweet love as any...

My friend was wearing a Pearl Jam shirt that I hadn't seen before. It was Ed as a stick figure with the band behind on stage, also stick figures, with the lights drawn on the top of the stage, drums and everything. When I asked her where she got the shirt she told me her husband had their six year old son draw the picture and he had it put on a shirt. I've never forgotten what a thoughtful and sweet gift that was.

Edit: Once when my ex had again upset me to tears my sister came over and said I needed a real man in my life. She handed me a poster of Johnny Depp she'd gotten for me. It's still hanging up and means the world to me. Small gesture but awesome thought.

When I left my ex I only took what I could carry and I subsequently ended up leaving most of my cd collection, so for me the sweetest thing ever was someone who bought me some replacement cds :)

The sweetest thing I've ever seen was someone getting someone else a giant cup of ice without even asking for it. :)

Well, the sweetest thing I ever received was a bicycle.
When I was in college my bicycle was stolen and I was heartbroken....Specialized Rock Hopper. :(
My friends in the theatre all gathered the tiny amount of money they had and bought me a "new" bicycle at a tag sale that was held on campus to raise money for something. It was the UGLIEST bike ever but I was in tears.
    I will never forget that.

I bought a friend something that, in itself, wasn't that interesting, but showed that I had picked up on something she had said months before and I remembered it, something very insignificant, and thought about her when I saw it. The person told me she'd never known anyone to listen to her so intently and that I was very sweet apparently :o

Yeah, crazy is an understatement, but I wasn't gonna let her have the cat. She (the cat) ended up living at my house so when everything ended she wasn't going anywhere.

I don't blame you. Sounds like you and the cat are both better off!
