I have been making fun of the Big Foot thread but what are some peoples thoughts on supernatural phenomena? ESP, ghosts....

i dont necessarily believe in ghosts, ufos, spirts, etc... but i definately think its possible they exist. i think id have to see one to really believe in them, which i hope i dont because id be really freaked out.
  • Thousands and thousands of years of stories of supernatural stuff....and what solid evidence do we have? Not sure I've seen any yet...just witness accounts and what not.
  • I'm pretty OK about the supernatural.. not much of a leap of the imagination for me.

Its all coincidence backed by logical explanations.

I dont believe in any of it.

Someone mentioned life on other planets.....that to me in not in the same realm. Seeing that there are millions of planets, (most of which we will never see), I dont see how there CANT be life on other planets. It would be crazy to suggest that this in the only planet than could possibly harbor life.

But that being said, there are no flying saucers, nobody is getting abducted, and there are no anal probes.

    At least, not from aliens.

First of all....Bigfoot is real. :o

I believe there are sometimes other forces that are surviving around us. However, I do not believe in ufo's or esp.

I lived in a haunted town in NH. I promise you it was haunted.

  • 1000% possitive that ghosts and weird shit like that are real. My wife, myself and my inlaws have had first hand experiences. No bullshit what so ever.
My father inlaw never ever believed in that type of thing......well he does now.
I do not feel like telling the stories b/c I have already here in the past and so many weird things happened in a short time that I forget all of them.
    Maybe another day.

Ok, so New Hampshire....it was around Lake Sunapee, where Aerosmith is from.
New London, NH.....haunted. I stayed there one summer when I worked at a summer stock theatre there. I cannot tell you how many creepy, otherwordly things happened. I remember going to this house in the middle of the woods that the owner of the theatre occupied years ago...I was never so scared in my life. And it was the middle of the day.
Also, at another theatre I worked at in New Haven, CT....I saw one. I swear to you.

totally believe in spirits and such
  • Its not to unrealistic to think that a type of sasquatch exist. We are so close to primates its not a crazy suggestion to picture it.

Silly maybe, but that is how I feel.

Yea, this bugs me. I've stayed in New London a bunch of times...both in houses and camping...I never saw/heard/felt anything that would make me think something supernatural was going on. But many people told me about experiences they've had there...same with other places too.

I think ghosts are frightened of me.

I wouldn't say there isn't such thing though...

I watched that Biography channel the other night and it was about the Gettysberg ghosts...that freaked me out!!

    Are you serious???
That place is so beautiful but sooooooo scary.
I am not saying ufos have landed there, but there are lots of bad vibes going on there. Such a beautiful town.

  • I dont belive in ghosts. When I go into a spooky basement or attic or room or whatever, I am more worried about a disturbed human being with an ax being there than some supernatural being. Those people have been proven to exist...just watch A&E or 20/20 or unsolved mysteries or whatever.

I do belive in aliens, but I dont think they have ever been to Earth.

    I dont belive in psychics.

I do belive in the boogie man. He lived under my bed when I was a kid.

Never believed in UFO's until I seen something in the evening sky... and its just that unidentified flying object... darn missed the probe!
  • i don't believe in psychics or bigfoot. i do believe in aliens and ghosts though. i've had enough experiences with the latter not to think there is something going on around us that we can't see.

why do people always bring up extraterrestrial life in discussions of the supernatural? It would be far-fetched and incredible to me if there WASN'T life elsewhere in the universe.

Whether or not they fly around near earth on the other hand is a different story...

I believe it all. I've had a couple of experiences and a relative another.

yeah i just threw the alien bit in my response because others had touched on it. i think it's a given that there is life out there....it's arrogant to think we're the only ones in the universe really.

they've probably been here, we're just all too stupid to know. they must come to just laugh at us lol
  • aliens are supernatural. they are not what we have come to know as natural.

ive been thinking about this today.....ghosts are definately not real. its all bullshit. peoples minds getting worked up and running away on them. i mean, shit, you get yourself worked up enough, and you hear your radiator hiss or crack and its going to scare the shit out of you....put yourself in a strange place with strange noises that you dont know....and wallah....ghosts.

    bullshit. not real.

(I hope I see one tonight....maybe this will egg them on).

    wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • I don't know about aliens.

I believe ghosts are real. Why? Because I've seen one or two. I never thought they were real before that.

I believe people can have esp. I think my daughter is telepathic. She is 4 years old and speaks out loud about the random nonsense that I'm thinking about. If I'm craving a lemon tart, she will say, "Oh, lemon pie sounds good right now." I'm not kidding. She just gets it somehow.

I think it's possible that there are creatures on this planet now that have not yet been discovered. There is certainly mounting evidence that some creatures believed to be extinct are quite possibly not.

I think that it's possible that there were creatures on this planet before that we have not discovered evidence of.

I think it's possible that there is life on other planets.

I also believe that there are phenomena that has not yet been explained such as ghosts, telepathy, psychic abilities. The human brain is a complex thing. We do not even understand all of its capabilities and perhaps we never will.

I'm not saying that any of these things are as we've interpreted them so far but I believe that the science will catch up hopefully. Some things will eventually be explained and perhaps others will not.

yes i believe in pretty much everything you asked. have had very close experiences with types of "hauntings" for lack of a better word. and my mother and sister were very much psychic. more my mom, but for some reason my sister was able to ....fuck IDK her and my mom could communicate without speaking for sure. my sister on the other had has not been able to do anything like that again since my mom died.

oh and i did get a glimpse of something in the sky once, odd shape, no lights, it blended in with the darkness perfectly. not sure what it was, but it was there.
    Peace, Love.

Im ready for all the skeptics to go... "Friggen KosmicJelli is nuts"... ahhh... (dont tell anyone, cause I dont give a ratzass, lemme prove self) but i do believe in the supernatural...
  • I definitely feel like a kook when I talk about it.
On Friday I had a lady that I was waiting on tell me that I'm clairvoyant. I was surprised, but then I admitted that sometimes I'll think about things that might happen, and when they come true I assume it's just coincidence.
