Man...I've heard some really bad things about this game and that sucks. I only have a 360 so The Show isn't even an option for me.

I'll DL the demo and decide if I want to purchase it or not.

Everything negative I have read on the game has come from Show fanboys. I'm thinking it is probably just an average game. I bet it won't be MVP 05, but as long as it isn't MLB 2k6, I'm okay with it.

Really? I just based it off of the reviews I have read for it from multiple "non-partial" websites.

I think it's basically 2K7 with a little more glitz. It's nothing ground breaking, but it should be a solid play. They better get it right next year though.

I got 2k8 last night. The game seems to run a little slower than 2k7 and I just don't enjoy it too much. The roster updates caused my 360 to freeze up. I ended up having to delete the file just to get past the loading screen (apparently this is happening to a lot of people). I'm at the point now that I'm thinking about buying a PS3 and getting The Show.
I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.

I've read that if you turn the ticker off, the game runs a lot better. I don't have XBL, so that is a non issue to me.
  • While The Show seems to be far superior if you have a PS3, 360 owners obviously don't have a choice. I'm having a blast with the game and found it far more rewarding than any other baseball videogame I've ever played.

Some things that I did that may help others:

-Turn off all highlights, cutscenes, and tickers

    -Use the "aerial" fielding camera

-Commentary is slowing the game down as well, so that will help as well unless you like listening to three-year old dialogue

Basically, it's a caching issue with the hard drive. If you happen to have a memory card, the game apparently plays a lot better if you take off the hard drive and use the card instead.

Now I know it's not acceptable to have to find these workarounds to play a game (who do they think we are? PC gamers?), but it's better than nothing until they patch it.
