I got a handful of these, I swear. The basic point of these stories is simply this: cops are VERY nervous when they see me for no apparent reason, and I get very paranoid when cops are near me as a result. I'm sure there are some wonderful cops out there...blah blah blah....but srsly, stay the hell away from me :P
I can't imagine why they get nervous when they see you.

no offense dude but what a stupid comment. it's actually the complete opposite - cops today can't do crap without some moron complaining or filming it. there was a recent case here in Philly where a few cops got fired for beating up suspects (who were in a speeding car that they had to strop) in a TRIPLE shooting all because it was filmed by a tv crew. sorry but if you are suspect in a triple shooting and are speeding away from cops you deserve an ass whopping.

the cop in this case was just trying to do his job and get a possible drunk driver off the road and yet people like the OP and you think the cop is just being an ahole. I ask the original poster: Isn't trying to get drunk drivers off the road worth the 10 minutes out of your life that this stop casued? If it saves someone life (not this time but it other cases) it is surely worth it.

I was pulled over 6 times in 15 months and never given a ticket. My car is a hunk-o-junk and it looks like a druggy loser would be behind the wheel... Everytime they would pull me over, they would see I'm just a sweetheart and not doing anything wrong. :)
I really screwed that up. I really Schruted it.

    You were "speeding" ...

I'm sure NWA has been mentioned by now. I don't hate the cops, but I hate the ridiculous little rules they have to uphold, I hate the fact that people are so stupid that they think everyone else is incapable of living safely and responsibly without these laws.

Where I am, you get a 5 mile grace period. But because you were coming from the bar, I can see them not having that grace period.

I don't see it as entrapment that they wait across the street from bars. They aren't FORCING drinks down your throat and then tricking you into driving. (Not talking about the OP since you weren't drinking, I just mean in general).

haha Yes they do need a reason. I got pulled over when I was 16, the SECOND day I had my license. I was driving to my nana's house to go swimming and play/help baby-sit my younger cousins.

Of course I was being extra-cautious because it was only my second day driving. I am almost there, and I see sirens behind me. I pull over and am terrified. I roll down my window and the cop asks to see my license and registration. Trying to not to cry, I ask what I did wrong, when all of a sudden I hear a tapping noise on the passenger side of the window. It was my uncle, laughing HYSTERICALLY at me! He is a cop (now a captain) and was with a lower-ranking officer. He instructed the other guy to pull me over. The other cop said "I need a reason--she isn't doing anything wrong!" My uncle replied "Just find a reason--the color of the car is brown!"

So this has scarred me for life. To this day I still feel a little scared when a cop car is behind me. :p BUT, touch wood, I have never gotten a ticket!

Haha! It is funny now but I sure didn't think it was then! My mom really read him the riot act when I told her what happened. :p I still tease him about it to and make him feel bad. Especially now that his oldest son is 17 and is driving and his daughter will be getting her license next summer ;)

Well, where I went to college he wouldn't have taken your word for it and would have made you do a sobriety test followed by a breathalyzer.

My roommate delivered pizzas in college and he would get pulled over and harrassed at least once a week. They could clearly see the stack of pizza boxes and they'd still give him shit about being out so late and if he was drinking.

Cops can take shit waaaaaay to far at times.

 since when does 'being a suspect' automatically make you guilty and deserving of a beating for panicking and speeding away? Cops in this day and age know it's fucking stupid to beat up 'suspects' and they deserve to get fired... just as people know it's stupid to speed away from the cops, but sometimes people simply panic.

if you are a suspect and lead the police on a high speed chase you deserve a beating in my opinion. you've effectively admitted your guilt and have decided to put everyone else in harms way, including police officers and innocent bystanders by running/leading the police on a chase. no sympathy whatsoever. no offense but the type of attitude you display in your post is why its impossible for police to do their jobs effectively today - there is no respect for authority and the sympathy lies with the no good pieces of crap that are further ruining the cities of America. Maybe it's different where you are from. I am from the Philly area and the city can be out of control at times. An innocent hard working kid was recently killed here for is damn Ipod. Shot for no reason. Gun violence is out of control and if you are a suspect in a shooting and run from the cops a good ass whipping is in order.

This is where they come back at you with, "Well, in my country there aren't any guns. So here, this kid would never had been shot for his iPod. I don't feel sorry for you Americans - you want guns and you have them so deal with it."

 You don't think we have this shit in Ireland? A couple of years ago there was a 16 year old stabbed to death for his cell phone. Gangs are running the place... I still don't believe cops should have more power though. Of course there are plenty of great cops out there... the majority of them... but there are also plenty of corrupt ones... just like in any group of people. Give a corrupt person power to beat the crap out of whoever they want... and you're asking for trouble!

Yes, they should not have sped away from the cops of course... but why did the cops need to beat the crap out of them when they'd already caught them? that's just fucking stupid. They've got them... let justice be done properly... if cops can't follow the laws they're supposed to enforce and protect, how would this convince anybody else to do so?

  • This is an example of EXACTLY why I do not drink and drive.

I'm apalled that THIS is even something you consider a reason not to drink and drive. How about not drinking and driving because of the danger it poses to you and others? Jeez, what other things would you do if only you wouldn't get in trouble?

  • I got pulled over for the tag light being out on my car about a month or so ago. I wasn't speeding so he had the right to pull me over for that. He was very nice about it.

About 2 weeks later, I was TOTALLY speeding, 70 in a 55....SAME trooper pulls me over...he let me go with a warning. I told him I'd have to find another way home to avoid him. He laughed and said to watch it.

I set the cruise at 55 from now on!

I let a bar at 2am. I had been drinking some early in the night but had stopped for a while and I could easily operate my vehicle without causing harm to myself or others.

I got pulled over becasue my headlight was pointing up. The cop (who i later found from my lawer makes a habit of waiting at bars for people to leave and has a record of shady pulls) charged me with DUI. I refused to do his dog and pony show and went to jail for the night. I eventually blew a .08

I got a lawer and was found not guilty.

Fuck the Police. go find the guy raping a little boy or girl leave me the hell alone.

Don't take offense to this but shit like this doesn't happen to guys. Generally speaking we get charged.

I always hear stories from girls getting pulled over and getting warnings.

I got pulled over by a cop for going 15 over the speed limit the cop asked me why i was going so fast ( it was speed trap the speed limit dropped from 65-55 and i was doing 70) i told him the truth i was returning home from my granddad's funeral and i honestly was thinkign about other thigns.

He gave me the ticket and sent me on my way. I was like shit man i'll never get a warning if i did not get one then!

I've been pulled 3 times and got 3 tickets.

I have a country music station programmed into my radio for the sole purpose of having on when I get pulled over. I always have it on when they walk up, I'm always very friendly, I'm always sorry for going that fast, officer, sir.

I'm at about 50% for getting a ticket and 50% for getting a warning.

I am not making this up, by the way.

I've had to work with and be around state troopers quite a bit and the one thing they all say is if they detect attitude, you're getting a ticket. The guy troopers also admit that a hot looking non-attitude chick showing some cleavage or "accidently" flashing a little love is probably not getting the ticket.

That's just what I've heard from the horse's mouth. I am always sickeningly sweet to the po-po. In fact, I have failed three different field sobriety tests but because the cops liked me and all my joking with them at my own expense, they let me go every time. Actually told me to get back in the car and drive home three different times???

Yeah, it isn't exactly rocket surgery. One of those times I mentioned, my "friend" had actually flipped off the cops as we drove past them on New Years Eve no less. They still let me go because after they pulled me out of the car and the whole time I was failing the field sobriety tests, I kept them laughing by begging to borrow their gun or tazer or mace so I could use it on my friend.

leave you alone to allow you to drink and drive and put INNOCENT people at risk cause you want to drink with your friends and are too ignorant to get a ride? Not trying to be a dick but come on, if you are going to break the law don't blame the cops for stopping you. I can't believe the number of people on here who complaining about being stopped for breaking the law and/or suspected of breaking the law. I'm sorry dude but coming out of a bar late at night you are immediately a suspected drunk driver.

I know some DA's, and this is the best way to beat a DUI if you've been drinking. Refuse the field sobriety test and refuse teh breathylyzer. Say you won't speak until you have your attorney. You have to be prepared to spend a night in jail and get your car impounded. But in most cases, that is much better than the consequences of a DUI.

I do not condone drinking and driving of course. But this is the way to beat it.
