are your clothes made out of lemons... or are you always this bitter?

40-50 hours is what i fucking said... can't you proof read?

i also said i had started a family... family comes first, work second thank you very much. A government job with flexi-time and 5 hours less per week suits me better than kowtowing to your corporate clock.

    DAMN.....

Everyone sounds so angry today!

Chill..... You should be in a good mood... you have a government job! ;)

    clothes, lemons?
i think something is being lost in translation

anyway i'm not bitter at all, i thought you were complaining about working 40 hours a week, thats a full time job, maybe it's different in scotland, idk

and the company i work for who spends millions on print work each year now mails twice as much as it did 10 years ago, but yes some prints fields are taking a hit as the rest of the entire world is taking a hit

sorry if i came off nasty before, was not trying to
maybe something was lost in the translation ;)

I guess the small printing companies face more difficult times.

i was in a small company, but clearly a 40 hour week was way too much for me... but my old boss invested in straight-to-plate machinery, digital presses, bigger sheet size presses, etc... so hopefully they'll ride it out (my friend and my cousin still work there so i wish them well)!!!
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

I work for a medium to large commercial printer and the company is struggling right now. I have seen a few rounds of layoffs. This is not unusual as most of my friends companies have seen layoffs as well. It is hard for small or medium sized printers to compete with RRD. They take up all the work like Wal-Mart.

Another day over. I made changes to a 16 page brochure, produced 3 adverts and a couple of email mailings. Bored out of my skull, been doing this far too long.

The print trade will almost die because of the web and email mailings. A lot of the work I do now never goes near a printer. I feel for them. Customers of mine are sending Christmas cards as emails, no printing, no postage but a promise of money to charity instead.

The printing industry is tough and from what i know if you dont keep up with tech you will go under .

i just talked to an owner of a printing company an he said most of the pretenders kind of fell off the way side in the last 5 to 10 years ...

he said as much as their is alot of people ,young graphic designers or what have you ..that doo it themselves ,they find it to much of a hastle to do the printing and end up out sorcing their work.
