  • 1. I don't think I can name 10 football movies that I've seen, period.

    2. Rudy is one of my all-time most-reviled movies ever. I loathe that movie so much it sickens me. It's irrational. We had a teacher show us that movie about 6 times in one year. I couldn't take it.

    3. The only football "movie" I own is the DVD of Ohio State beating Miami in the national championship game of 2002 ;)
she was underwhelmed, if that's a word

Oh you mean the year when they won because of a bad call?

yeah I don't think I've seen 10 football movies. Any documentaries about Oklahoma are up on my list. My great Grampa was the first OU football coach back in the day, so anything dealing with him is way cool.

I'm not sure. Was that the year Miami had 1st and goal on the 1-foot line in overtime and their "unstoppable" offense couldn't do shit?

Is that what kept Miami from being able to score from less than a yard out even with 4 tries?

    1) Brian's Song (the original, with James Caan and Billy D. Williams)
    2) Rudy
    3) Friday Night Lights
    4) Remember the Titans
    5) The Longest Yard (again, the original, with Burt Reynolds)
    6) The Program (second James Caan sighting on my list ... if Rollerball was a football movie, that would be on here too)
    7) North Dallas Forty
    8) Any Given Sunday
    9) All The Right Moves
    10) Wildcats

I'm sure if you keep whining it will change the outcome. Screw Miami and all their apologists.

Or maybe (based on your location) you're just bitter about Terrelle Pryor's 4th quarter heroics breaking the Camp Randall streak and sending them into one of the ugliest flameouts in college football ;)

I am a Florida fan as well since I almost went to school there so I got plenty of joy watching them destroy Ohio State a couple years ago........when nobody thought that Florida stood a chance.

Kind of like what everyone said about Ohio State beating Miami. It happens.

Nothing like a bandwagon fan. "Almost went there" does not count in college football.

Actually I have been a long time fan, even when they were dominated by FSU and Miami. I cannot tolerate boring Big 10 football.

    thats a pretty good list

    but I would add
    Knute Rockne: All American

    and drop wildcats
  • Rudy...one of my all-time favorites even though I hate Notre Dame
    The Program
    Friday Night Lights

Someone suggested Rudy is "irrational".....how so?
All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow

No "Any Given Sunday" anywhere? I know the movie is a little out of control and out there, but it would be on my top 10 list based on Pacino's locker room speech alone. One of my favorite scenes of any movie.

    1. Rudy (It came out when I was in high school and I was the smallest lineman in my conference so I was nicknamed Rudy)
    2. Everybody's All American
    3. Longest Yard (original)
    4. North Dallas Forty
    5. Varsity Blues
    6. Invincible
    7. The Program
    8. All the Right Moves
    9. Friday Night Lights
    10. The Waterboy

I haven't seen Remember the Titans or The Expres yet and I really wanted to put Any Given Sunday and Johnny Be Good on my list. I left off Brian's Song the original because technically it was a made for tv movie and never played in theaters.

I took that statement to mean that their hatred of the movie is irrational. Not the movie itself.

    My list:
    1. Remember the Titans
    2. Friday Night Lights
    3. The Program
    4. The Replacements
    5. The Waterboy
    6. Necessary Roughness
    7. Varsity Blues

don't think I've seen any other football movies to round out the top 10 list....
