Not that I support this thread or anything, but how is this different from the "So what do you all look like" thread, where people post their pictures and others choose to comment on the looks of some of those pictures and not others?

I mean, isn't it very similar to commenting on how "hot" one person is in that other thread and completely ignoring somebody else's picture? Doesn't that constitute "judging" each other on looks?

And let's not pretend that males were the only ones guilty of doing that...

Yup, I agree with you on this. At first that thread seemed harmless enough, but it's deteriorated. Tiz the very reason I won't post my own pics on here.

Those women made me feel cheap and dirty. And they didn't care about my opinion on politics either.

I think it's bad that we can't post pictures up without something like this happening. I know a few people (myself included) only post up pictures because they're proud of them. I know there's a fair old few of people with their families and I personally think that's wonderful and it really is good to put faces to names... it's just a shame it has to resort to an unspoken "hot or not" contest with some people completely ignoring others pictures on purpose. Unfortunately I believe some of it (if not all for some people) boils down to jealousy.
I'm not saying there's anything wrong with saying someone is attractive, it's always nice to hear whoever you are, but threads like this that COMPARE us to each other should be deleted.

I am truly disappointed that this thread even exists. I would like to think Pearl Jam fans, being the open-minded and welcoming community that we are, would be above judging women by their looks. If Ed saw this, I'm sure he'd say the same thing.

As cliche as it sounds, that's exactly what I said earlier - I'm not angry, just very disappointed in people I thought would know better.

Of course they do, we're only human.
The point we're trying to make is that this is an internet message board where avatars aren't allowed so to post your picture and to put a face to the name is a great thing and that's the only reason the thread was started. That doesn't bother me and as i've said, i'm proud to put my mush in it. I do however, have a problem with a thread being started where us PJ girls are compared to one other so blatantly. This isn't a popularity contest or miss world.

(btw, i'm always judging you, eyed... )
