I think its a pretty good movie.

I think it's pretty accurate in a lot of ways too.

I've seen it twice. I rented it the first time and saw it on TV the second time.

I thought it was OK. I thought the quality of acting really is what carried the movie more than the plot. Robert Duvall and Michael Douglas are both top notch in every movie I've seen them in.

What I didn't like about the movie was that it portrayed the Michael Douglas character as already having severe emotional problems and being incapable of maintaining positive interpersonal relationships.

Also, it narrowed down the scope of his rampage to just a simple stroll through Los Angeles. In some ways, it's a creative approach to dealing with the diversities of dilemmas that plague our cities by using the "Yellow Brick Road" approach to unfolding the plot.

That is, Michael Douglas is sort of like Dorothy, encountering various obstacles as he makes his way back home, so he can terrify his wife and child into accepting him back into their hearts.

Throughout the movie, we discover that in spite of his indignation at the perils of our downtrodden society, he himself is in his own way a monster of sorts.

And that's where I became disappointed. When I first decided to give this flick a chance, I was hoping to see a story of a man who, in the face of the harsh realities of the world we live in, breaks down from an overwhelming feeling of helplessness to do anything about it. That is, from his earnest desire to make the world a better place, he eventually loses hope and resorts to methods unconventional.

But, that's not what this story is about. Rather, it's about a man who seeks to redeem his own moral inconsistencies by lashing out at what he believes are enemies to his system of beliefs.

And that's why his job as a defense contractor is actually quite fitting for the role that he plays. His whole life, the world has simply been a matter of "us vs. them."

I have to agree the acting was pretty shoddy.
What I loved is the cinematography reminded me of Repo Man. lol

    I thought it was awesome.
The opening scene, stuck in traffic, with the fly buzzing around in his car. You could feel the pressure in his head and almost smell him.
I am pretty easy going now, but back when this came out, I wished I could have done some of the stuff he did. lol

    Ooopsie.

I thought everyone but M Douglas and the Duvall were shoddy. But that added to the Repo Man feel of it for me.

Same here. Though, I liked the concept a lot since I'm a big fan of"24-hour" setting type of movies.

After Hours is another great "24-hour" movie, and it's freckin' bizarre as well.

It's a good movie. In my opinion Michael Douglas is merely acting out things many people fantasize about doing when things get frustrating. Obviously what he does is not the solution to anything but I'm sure many people have thought about responding in that fashion.

For some reason this movie is one of the best unintentional comedies I have ever seen. Seriously, I can't be the only person who finds this movie hilarious. Can I?
