Anybody here smoked it before? Any thoughts or stories to share? How long does it last?

As far as my own experiences go, they have gotten stronger the more I have done it. I have heard of this before, something about reverse tolerance. It's very hard to break through on your first attempt. A recurrent theme for me is being pulled out of reality, not as abruptly and shockingly as some reports I've heard, into what seem to be past experiences from childhood. I sort of fade from reality into scenes which I do not specifically remember ever occuring but there is a definite feeling of being a child again. For me, these have been quite nice experiences, one involved riding on a fairground train in a park I used to go to when I was younger, another involved me being in playgroup again. on at least two occasions I have felt a guiding voice or presence. The owner of the voice has never been visible to me and it's not really like hearing it, it's that I can imagine it in my head. It's very powerful stuff, I do not recommend it if you are in a bad place emotionally or anything like that.
Lastly, if you do it, don't go expecting anything mindblowing. The first time I did it was very subtle, the last time was powerful to the point that I consciously pulled myself back to reality because I didn't like the intense feeling. I don't think I have yet had a full-blown trip. It seems like a plant with very, very powerful potential but, at risk of sounding like a hippie shaman, you have to respect it. For this reason, I neither recommend or discourage it for anyone. You have to make your own informed decision. Definitely check out the experiences of other users on http://www.erowid.org It's completely unbiased and has hundreds of good and bad trip reports.
I hope this was helpful and I hope if you do it, you'll have a positive experience. I'm pretty sure it can open your mind up in a wonderful way if used correctly.

you know jamie, if you like that, you should really try shrooms...sounds to me a better "high" that salvia.....although i haven't had shrooms in like 16 years  shrooms were a great mellow trip....sfrom all i've read, salvia doesn't sound like a lot of fun.....at least until i try it....;)
DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE YOU DO IT. TAKE IT VERY SERIOUSLY. THE DRUG IS NOT TO BE TAKEN LIGHTLY.
as mentioned, read erowid.
Once my friend thought the was being wrapped up in celophane(sp?) and he was so convincing that I tripped off his trip, tried to avoid getting wrapped up myself and ran for the door, only to fall into the corner of my room, laugh my ass off and knock over a table and chair...
I have also seen one of my best friends FREAK out on the stuff!

it is a short trip, and it is NO JOKE!!! Much more intense than LSD! Like the peak of a serious trip, that is salvia... it should be illegal!

When I was 17 I took a Microdot, my first experience of hallucinogenics, incredible to think what that tiny pill that musta been 2mm in circumference could do to my mental being. I became paralysed to a sofa through cramp in a leg, at the same time I had no idea what to do,think or say, streetlamps were encircled with florescent drippy rainbow colours. I lost touch with the fellows with me on the journey yet at the same time could not break away and go home for fear of.........not sure. Looking in the mirror on just about any trip was a mistake, just a peek, just enough to know that I shouldn´t have green skin.
I´m not sure if anybody really has the strength sustain these kind of kicks forever, has anyone ever built up a cellular tolerance to these drugs?
The Doors Soft Parade album forever reminds me of the near insanity of tripping off my tits.
Jeremy, many people cannot make responsible choices in all aspects of their lives, to legalize all would create havoc.
Amsterdam seems to be doing alright.
