In the late 80s early 90s, there was a metal band, Method od Destruction, that did a song about Captain Crunch ...

I could not find a youtube of it, but here are the lyrics .... to this day, when I ever think about Captain Crunch, I think of the chorus ...

    CAPTAIN CRUNCH:

    Soggies suck

I was sitting up at night
    I was feeling so uptight
    I was just fucking around
There was something dragging me down

Thinking of a bite to eat
Thought this would be really neat
    Cheerios are stale that's beat
But Captain Crunch is fun to eat

    Captain Crunch, Captan Crunch
    He's inviting you to munch
    Captain Crunch, Captain Crunch
    Munch a bunch a munch a munch

    Fuck my brain

    Scoffing down this yellow wheat
Is making me feel kind of beat
My head is spinning round and round
Now my teeth are turning brown

My face is starting to come apart
    From this overdose of starch
I really wish mom wasn't here
I'll have another box of beer

    Captain Crunch, Captain Crunch
    He's inviting you to munch
    Captain Crunch, Captain Crunch
    Munch a bunch a munch a munch

Hennessey's on Mission Blvd in PB, San Diego has Cap'n Crunch French Toast.

    It ROCKS!

I've made my own...Not bad...but not as good as theirs!

Smoosh up some Capn Crunch in your french toast batter and go for it. Yum!

(Or go to Hennessey's in PB for a delicious breakfast treat!) :)
  • CCrunch and also fruit loops. Once the milk sinks in just right so they're a bit chewy and crunchy at the same time.

I used to just grab the box and the milk, a huge bowl, relocate in front of the TV, and go a few rounds.

    nice in the day.

One of my all-time least favorite cereals. I liked the box, though. Great fuggen box, actually. If I remember it right, the box had like some kind of pirate's treasure map on the back or something. It was like some kind of spooky island or something. But, I was always more of a frosted mini wheats or cinnamon toast crunch kid.

Nowadays it's either quaker oats n nuts or total.

Cap'n Crunch is awesome except it leaves that weird film on the roof of your mouth.

Any love for the imitator Malt o Meal Colossal Crunch?

I love Captain Crunch. The best part of a box of CC is when you get to the end, you get all the ground up crunch at the bottom of the box. That is the pure stuff. I used to eat that and see music as colors.

Also, does anybody remember two companion cereals to CC?

    Does anybody remember Quisp?

    Does anybody remember Quake?

They were just as good as CC. (But no crunchberries, those suck.)

Quisp kicked ass!!!! I still run across it on occasion.

Does any remember the vanilla-flavored variety of Captain Crunch from the 1970's???? That was my fave.

So glad someone else remembers it. And yes, it does kick ass. I see it occasionally too, but I thought I was having a flashback from the Captain Crunch. I have to say I missed the vanilla-flavored CC, but it sounds intriguing.
